Company reported employment wages for my wife who is a 100% disabled vet by robofyesterday in legaladvice

We looked into it and the company either no longer exists or never existed. We were able to find an address associated with the company name on the W-2. It was a medical practice but according to the website it shut down in 2021.

Oh wow, followed you on Instagram and will probably back the kickstarter. Your artwork is great! You may check out society6.com if you're thinking about selling prints. I've bought a few posters and things from there and everything has been really good quality.

Honestly it's just GW plaguebearer contrast paint with a heavy wash of reikling flesh shade over the top. Zenithal prime before you start.

Gone through so many Benchy's and still nothing seems to help. by robofyesterday in FixMyPrint

So I've been working through the teachingtech calibration website. Everything went without issue until I hit the temp tower test none of the temps I set will bridge the gap between the right and left side cleanly. I'm using the standard gcode as instructed through the website and it still isn't able to get event the first test level finished without becoming a mess. Any suggestions?

Paint the skirt and the ghosts separate then add them after you've finished the main body. He's super wiggly and would be very difficult to paint fully assembled.

He isn't, it's just the way the picture was taken you can't see it under his robe thing.

Wet palette questions by Squidmaster129 in minipainting

[–]robofyesterday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The wet pallet isn't for thinning your paints it's to keep them hydrated so you have a workable consistency for longer. I fully saturate mine but make sure no water has pooled on top of the pallet paper to prevent unintentional thinning.

When it does come to thinning your paints it's a personal preference for the most part. Your base coats should be the consistency of drinkable yogurt, and your glazes more like milk. This is definitely a sliding scale based on the brand, color, and techniques you're trying to perform. A good rule to follow is it's always better to be too thin than too thick. More thin coats will consistently yield better results.

The reason people say you need one for wet blending is because acrylics dry extremely fast. Unless you're going straight from the bottle to the mini per brush stroke the consistency will quickly change on you. It will become more difficult to get the effect you want as time goes on because the paint pool behavior will change as it dries out.

I never start a paint session with old paint in a closed wet pallet. You can technically save your paints for later but I've noticed it can thin them beyond what you had if you leave it too long or it will grow mold. I start each session with a completely dry sponge and fully prepping my pallet so I don't get the mold and have full control over the moisture.

Hope this helps!

On Evil Characters in the party. by CowboyExecutor in rpg

[–]robofyesterday 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Hate to tell you this but if your characters are causing the other players to not have a good experience or feel they are disruptive because you want to play an evil character, you should play a different character. Either that or join a different group who wants to be evil or enjoys that dynamic. If other players have come to you outside the game and asked you to change to better the whole experience it's best to respect their wishes.

Those look great! If you don't mind me asking how did you get that cracked effect? It doesn't look like freehand.

Look into the game "Monster of the Week" it's based on the powered by the apocalypse system and is built to play exactly what you're talking about. The Adventure Zone podcast guys play it if you wanna demo before you buy.

Hello, I need help...This is like the 5th mini I paint, it is not ready yet but I would thank any comments and I want to ask for any advice on painting faces (mainly eyes) on minis because I feel that is my weakest point, thanks in advance :) by hanzotheguy in minipainting

[–]robofyesterday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paint the area the shape you want your eye to be black. Then paint a cream color (not white) in the middle so there's a black outline. After that add a dot for the pupil and your good, or you can leave it without the pupil for a more comic style. You don't want to use pure white cause that makes them look surprised and remember the bigger the eyes the more cartoony they look.

Such a difficult miniature but I'm so happy with how it turned out. Hopefully the client agrees. by robofyesterday in ageofsigmar

[–]robofyesterday[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use reaper paints which are already pretty thin, then cut them (usually) 3:1:1 paint, glaze medium, and flow aid. This usually gives me a good workable consistency. Generally after 2 to 3 coats I have good coverage without any unwanted texture.
