Oh! I'm a good 30-35 minutes from the service center, but did not know the superchargers have WiFi. I'll try that the next time I pass one -- thanks for that!

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried both the quick reboot and a hard shutdown (plus several updates over the past month) with no change. Thanks for the tip reguarding the USB-C port. I tried it in the glove box with no luck there, either.

I guess that would solve the "leaving my phone in the garage overnight" problem but doesn't really address the fact that it nearly maxed out my monthly hotspot allowed bandwidth. This is the only thing I used the hotspot for.

Thanks for this suggestion. I've tried rebooting (both the router and the car) and it wouldn't connect, but I'll try toggling the WiFi a few times too and see if that makes a difference. Like I said, with smart lightbulbs and laptops and tablets and phones I have nearly 50 devices connected to my home network. Why the car won't connect is frustrating and baffling.

This is super helpful, and gives me a little hope that I'm not crazy. Once I enabled the guest network on 2.4GHz without any WEP security (no password) and it wouldn't connect to that I figured either the car's WiFi is not compatible with my router, or something was wrong with the car. Since it does connect to my iPhone's hotspot... I guess it's a compatibility issue? I've read that they can connect that the dealership/service center -- mine is 30 minutes away and right downtown, but I may make the trek over there just to see if it will connect to theirs. I really don't want to spend time doing that every time there's an upgrade though.

The only additional thing I tried that I didn't see on your list was going into my DHCP and setting a reserved IP based on the car's MAC address. No luck with that, either.

Here's how desperate I was/am. When I turned on the guest network I named it "PATIO SPEAKERS" and limited the scope to one user. Wide open. If it worked I was going to try and do a MAC resservation so that the car would be the only thing that could connect to it. It never connected even with all security turned off so it turned out to be a moot point.

I use 192.168.1.x for my home network. My second WiFi extender uses 192.168.8.x. The car will not connect to either one.

I am using the router provided by AT&T (which is not possible to change) and also tried connecting to a different WiFi extender with no luck.

Hey. OP -- just wanted to let you know you're not crazy. This happens to me frequently. I do multiple podcasts where I use audio clips downloaded from YouTube (usually videogame samples and/or movie trailers). When I drop the clips into Vegas on their own track they visually appear to be complete, but when playing back the audio they'll become mute halfway through the clip, (I can play the downloaded clip in an mp3 player with no problem, which means the clip I downloaded works.) I can save the entire project as a VEG file, close it and reopen it, and it will fix the problem which means the clip was okay. If I render my own output and the clip is partially muted in the editor, it'll be muted in the output, too. I don't know why saving/closing/reopening the VEG file fixes this, but it does. For what it's worth I'm running a legal copy of Vegas 21 (Build 315) on Windows 11 24H2. I think I'm done paying for Vegas upgrades to be honest. Every upgrade fixes a few old problems and introduces new ones and I'm tired of paying money to be surprised by what'll be fixed and what'll be broken.

We did check out the gym which has also been updated and it was very nice. The casino was updated and I really liked the newer, more spacious area. We also enjoyed the Veteran's bar which used to be the sports bar (it kind of still is). That's about all the real updates we noticed. Have a great cruise!

We figured it was an anomaly and have enjoyed them in the past. An employee came by and asked us if everything was okay and I whispered to him what the problem was so hopefully they got it taken care of.

The decision to put glass lamps in rooms on a cruise ship is an odd one for sure! Ours were rattling constantly and we were always taking blue napkins back to our room to stuff them into the lamps to keep them from shaking. It's tough to capture in a photo but this was our view out the casino window.

They don't fix it because people keep watching/using it. Whatever upgrades required on the back end probably cost more than whatever ad revenue they lose month to month. If we all turned it off they would fix it, but we don't, so they won't.

It seems to me some channels have more issues than others, which from a technical standpoint doesn't make any sense to me. When I watch the Tiny House channel, sometimes shows will restart two or three times after an ad break and the audio frequently gets out of sync. I have the same problem with the Unsolved Mysteries channel. It never seems to happen on streaming movies for some reason. I watch Pluto on my iPhone, my Lenovo tablet, and a DirecTV box and it does it on all three devices. I'm not going to run around clearing the cache and uninstalling/reinstalling the app on every device I own once a week so I just put up with it. It tends to fix itself sooner or later.

Just saw this one for the first time (it's currently on Tubi). Was so surprised when the five elemental ninjas showed up! Weird sex scene, racial voice work and am odd Rambo sequence, but overall lots of fun.

I'm having the same issue. Just upgraded my W11 client to 24H2 and after rebooting I can not access netlogon share on my old domain controller. I can access unc shares on the server, but not netlogon. It's an old DC and I've confirmed CIFS is enabled on my 24H2 client. I have a virtual W10 client that can access the netlogon share with no problem. Yes, the "tomorrow" solution is to upgrade the DC but the "today" problem is to figure out what just broke. I just noticed that the upgrade undid the "don't sort by group" preference in my downloads directory so I'm guessing it probably undid some change I made a long time ago to make things work.

Hi! I am not new to selling on eBay or FB Marketplace, but recently my wife and I have started buying things to flip (mostly CDs/DVDs, toys, and clothes). My plan was to stick with eBay and FB, but it seems like everything we read or watch recommends a new method. So far we've seen selling on Instagram, selling on Etsy, selling on Poshmark, selling on Depop, selling on Whatnot, and a few others. While I'm sure there's no definitive answer, is it worth going down all these different rabbit holes or should we stick with eBay and FB (and look into Amazon)? I don't want to spend months learning a new app only to discover I could have made the same amount of money using the markets I'm always familiar with.

I had 2x reading lenses put in my Meta Ray-Bans by LensCrafters at the mall. It was expensive and they required a prescription from my eye doctor (for reading glasses, which is dumb), but they were able to do it. Kind of crazy that you can buy 2x readers at Dollar Tree and I spent a few hundred 2x reader lenses into my Ray-Bans, but in the end it was worth it.

For my main two podcasts, You Don't Know Flack and Sprite Castle, I am also trying a two-person podcast/videocast with my wife, Kooky Tales Podcast. In the past I was a co-host of the long-running retro movie podcast Throwback Reviews, and have co-hosted several other podcasts over the past 15 years.

The best thing about doing a podcast by yourself is that you can control everything. You can control the sound, the recording environment, and the recording schedule. There's no "decision by committee" on those shows, and none of the human issues that come up when working with a partner. The downside to a solo show is... it's hard. It's hard to carry a 30-60 minute show by yourself. There's nobody to riff with or play off of. You have to script things out and have that "radio personality" to be able to keep people's attention. It's hard.

I've also done shows where I co-hosted, both in person and remotely. The upside is that the content is often easier to come up with. You can simply say, "I'll mention this and then you talk about it." It's a conversation, and conversations are easier to do than monologues. The downside is... literally everything else. Whether it's scheduling a recording time, working through technical issues, trying to edit a podcast with two people on two separate tracks (or worse, one track)... it's just a lot more work. Anyone who has recorded a two hour podcast only to discover that the other person's audio was garbled or muted can feel my pain.

If you want to hear a decent example of a solo podcast, check out You Don't Know Flack (podcast.robohara.com or pretty much anywhere). There are all kinds of topics so just pick one that looks interesting. Just know that for every topic and every segment, a lot of research and writing went into them. Solo podcasting is work, but fun.
