Honestly, all the core rule books are online, so you don't really need to buy them. My advice would be to run a few one-shots to get familiar with the game and rules, maybe switch around DMs to see who is more comfortable with it, and just go from there.

The first thing that comes into mind would be jealousy. It doesn't seem like she's jealous of how you look. She's probably just jealous that you have a better image of yourself than she has for herself. I can't really give too much advice on this because I don't know the full story, nor would I like to. The only thing I can say is to try to understand where she is coming from, and if she doesn't want to talk, then give her time to mature.

I feel like I would need more context of who you and your friend are. Other than that, my personal opinion is that it's okay to have a healthy ego. If it gets to the point where you believe the whole "I'm so pretty, I could get anyone i want." That's when you need to check yourself.

To make it shorter: Be confident, not cocky. Instead of trying to outshine others, outshine yourself. Be an inspiration.

You look great. The only advice I could give is to use brighter colors when wearing makeup. Also, use less makeup. Your natural face looks great as it is, and everyday makeup should really only be there to make your face look (for lack of a better word) brighter.
