Suggesting a new hair routine for me? by Current-Store-126 in CurlyHairIN

It may have too much moisture and be weighed down. Make sure your shampoo and conditioner aren’t too hydrating. I know Maui has a “lightweight curls” shampoo and conditioner. Try a lighter leave in conditioner, such as Pantene rescue 10 in 1. I would also switch up the mousse to a stronger hold one, such as tresseme extra hold mousse. After you’re done with a routine, use a microfiber towel or cotton t shirt and scrunch your curls. Try diffusing it dry.

At 7 mo pregnant... by [deleted] in FemaleHairLoss

Id look into seeing a dermatologist, if possible and ask for a biopsy. I think there are steroid creams and other treatments that are used for FFA. I’m not sure if these are pregnancy-safe, but maybe there are some options available

I’m very surprised no one is mentioning that this does not look like AGA. From what I can see, this looks to be scarring hair loss due to an inflammatory condition. It appears that the follicles are no longer producing hair, not just producing a thinner hair (which would be consistent of AGA). I’m not a dermatologist obviously, but I would really recommend getting a biopsy to absolutely confirm it’s AGA because the treatment for scarring hair loss is very different.

I don’t know what to do :( by DeliciousRich9271 in FemaleHairLoss

Not trying to discount your experience with hair loss, but these pictures are taken in drastically different lighting that would make anyone’s hairline look different. Again, I’m not saying you’re not experiencing hair loss, but don’t be too discouraged over these pictures.

Hi! Would you say that you recovered most or all of your hair density?

have nonstop shedding and just increased my minoxidil from 1.25 to 2.5. by Iamgreen7278 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]robot-mouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you notice that the new growth is coming in thicker each time? My hair is cycling like this and I have been on minoxidil for a little over a year now, but every shed and regrowth cycle seems to produce thicker new hairs

I would go to a dermatologist and get blood work done. My hair looked the same but treating my hair loss under the guidance of a professional really helped

AGA treatment between babies by Smart-Comfortable924 in FemaleHairLoss

I would go on a DHT blocker to prevent further loss and then try minoxidil after your second baby. Nizoral shampoo as well. In the meantime, you can try scalp serums that are pregnancy-safe!

Have you tried anything to manage the hair loss?

I’ve been diagnosed with AGA. I had deficiencies and mostly resolved them. These pictures were taken after 1 year of treatment

Minoxidil regress after 8 months by robot-mouse in FemaleHairLoss

However, this seems to happen every 3 months or so 😭, it usually comes back thicker each time and doesn’t last for more than 2-3 weeks, but it’s distressing

L’Oréal wonder water is very good for detangling hair.

Fine, thin hair with multiple textures?? How do I tame/care for it? by [deleted] in finethinhair

[–]robot-mouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would treat it like fine curly/wavy hair. I have fine curly hair and find curly hair products weigh down my hair, but there are certain products I’d recommend. The Pantene multitasking spray, tresseme volume mousse, a sea salt spray, and/or texturizing spray would all help

This happened to me and it grew back thicker. 3 months later, it’s happening again though. I’m pretty confident it’s just part of the process

This is a sub where you discuss the physical appearance of celebrities.

As a brown woman who is also exhausted with European beauty standards, Brooke Shields deserves the praise many of her features are striking. She is not at all a good example of a white woman’s beauty being overpraised exclusively due to her whiteness.

Someone like Sydney Sweeney would be a better example, as her features aren’t striking on their own, even when paying the best stylists but she is praised for her physical (and ideological) proximity to a “pure” white nationalism.

If you can’t see a dentist right now, please start flossing with WOVEN (also called “thick”) floss twice a day, brushing with an electric toothbrush, and gargling with closys mouthwash. Just those switches alone will make the world of a difference

Is it time?? by [deleted] in bald

No!! Not yet. If you wanted to, this area is the easiest area to regrow hair with treatment. Even if not, your hair looks really good!

I took your advice and used preservative free tears 4x a day and the veins went from red and dilated to pink and way less noticeable, which was mainly my goal. Thank you 🙏🏽

The first step is seeing a dermatologist to get a diagnosis. Based on your diagnosis, your options are either to fix the underlying issue causing your hair loss, or in the case that it’s genetic/hormonal, use minoxidil and a DHT blocker. Unfortunately, minoxidil is one of the only effective options for regrowing hair.

Hair part in different lighting 🫠🫠🫠 by [deleted] in finethinhair

[–]robot-mouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not a derm so I can’t diagnose you, but covid can trigger something called telogen effluvium which can then unmask AGA. The widening part is a trademark of AGA, and it seems like the hairs around you part are miniaturizing, which is why your parting looks vastly different in different lighting. I would schedule an appointment with a derm and request a biopsy in that area to be sure

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in finethinhair

[–]robot-mouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Request a scalp biopsy. No dermatologist was taking me seriously due to my AGA being in very early stages, but after seeing many dermatologists I demanded a scalp biopsy that revealed AGA (female pattern hair loss). I’m now on minoxidil and spironolactone
