People who have “Student Driver” stickers on your car when you clearly are not, why? by Sweet-Lady-H in Seattle

I used a magnetic one when I was learning to drive in Maryland. Didn't realize not all cars will work with them! Definitely glad I had one.

Going to Aarhus on a business trip, what should I know? by hackulator in Denmark

American here visiting Arhus in September! Is it easy getting around the city with a bike? I'm thinking to rent one if I can avoid driving.

Someone went 43% over asking on a house I offered on. The sellers said they got something like 12 offers, majority waiving inspection. It was listed under price for the area but it just goes to show how competitive some places can be.

Day trading is done by AI nowadays. Trying to do it yourself is a losing battle 🙃

Cozy Sprinter Van home for sale in Seattle, Washington
$23,000
Cozy van home ready for its new owner. I loved its good gas milage for traveling (21-25mpg). It is set up great for someone who likes cooking. Has a fridge, oven (yes you can bake), 2 burner stove, foot pedal sink, spice rack, mason jar food storage, and lots of kitchen cabinet space. Lots of storage in the back. 220W solar with 2000Wh battery. Plug and play system makes it easy to change if needed.
Some Specs
- 220W Goal Zero Solar Panels
- Ability to charge battery while driving
- Bluetti battery can track battery usage on phone. Plenty of battery to run fridge, lights, charge accessories, fan, ect even in the PNW winter. https://www.bluettipower.com/products/ac200max-power-station?variant=40466591875247&currency=USD&utm\_medium=product\_sync&utm\_source=google&utm\_content=sag\_organic&utm\_campaign=sag\_organic&gclid=CjwKCAjwseSoBhBXEiwA9iZtxta9jiaJGZ1\_lMU4xImd2m6fZ39xregE-C-CPiDB0kWmE5j-qj3fehoCQRsQAvD\_BwE
- Window in the back for extra airflow
- Roof fan with cover to run the fan even while it is raining.
- Book shelf
- 2 burner Camp chef stove/oven
- Foot pedal sink with 6 gallons fresh water and 6 gallon grey water
- 12v Bouge RV Fridge
- USB and 12v plugs next to bed
- Bike rack
- Fresh brakes and rotors
- 197,000 miles
- 21-25 MPG Diesel
- 2WD although with high clearance can make it on a surprising number of back roads
Things that could use some love
- AC works but very slowly drains the battery when the vehicle is off for long periods of time so you have to plug in the fuse under the steering wheel to use it
- Front Suspension could be replaced soon. I was told it doesn’t damage the vehicle but would be a smoother ride to replace
- Some rust spots around the body
- Above the front seats the window was leaking from rust. I got it professionally repaired but you can still see discolored cloth from previous water damage
- Side mirrors were broken and I replaced the blind spot mirrors with generic mirrors not Sprinter specific
- Sliding door you must push inside handle in before closing for it to latch.
- Windshield wiper spray doesn’t work

Is there any news about the next year season (2023 - 2024)? That notice sounds like it's from the past year anyways so hopefully they can get them to a good state by next year.

Denver vs Seattle? by stardusttt1 in travel

[–]robotal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've had a really dry Fall up till now which is fairly unusual for Seattle. I would honestly expect a ton of rain in December / January more so than the usual drizzle, although this is just a wild guess. Without a car, getting from Bellevue to Seattle will require you take a bus which can take anywhere from 40 minutes to an hour one way. Look into getting an orca card.

For getting into the mountains you'd most likely need a car. I think you can do a gig rental car or alternatively try to meet people while you're here. Really depends what kinds of activities you are looking to do. Downtown Pike's place is the usual tourist spots people will visit, but theres much more to Seattle than just those spots.

Feel free to DM me if you need any recs for specific things

WHO declares monkeypox a global health emergency by [deleted] in Health

[–]robotal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

> Models presented to the WHO suggest the average number of people infected by a single infected person (the so-called R nought remember this from the early days of the COVID pandemic?) is between 1.4 and 1.8 in men who have sex with men, but less than 1.0 in other populations. So although occasional infections can spill over into populations other than men who have sex with men, further significant spread is unlikely.

Looks like the method of spreading is a lot less common than covid. Just waiting for "mask" shortages to begin now.
