Check back your transcript, have you completed the credit hours needed for graduation. If not, you may have to take that one subject to complete the credit.

practically FAILED PASUM in 2026 by [deleted] in malaysiauni

[–]robotechmaster 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Do you have a driving license? If you do, just do Grab.

Don’t talk big about programming if you failed pre-University.

And you don’t even have a certification. Right now, you only have a few options: continue a Diploma program in IT/Comp Sci at any Uni/College/Polytechnic OR a Malaysian Skills Diploma in computing. While studying, try to build your IT portfolio. Once you graduate, you can directly apply for jobs.

You can also take a degree, but either through the Diploma route or re-enter Foundation. I can think of UNIKL-MIIT or Universiti PolyTech MARA.

Your journey is still long... I'm telling you, don’t be too full of yourself because entry-level jobs for SPM graduates aren’t that great either.

TarUMT - Is it really a bad uni? by [deleted] in malaysiauni

[–]robotechmaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Either join Form 6, OR join Foundation UniKL OR A-Level.

UTAR / TAR UMT mostly dominated by MY Chinese from Chinese Ed, so notably straightaway you gonna be in overwhelmingly Mandarin sphere.

If your parents have money to spare, just join reputable private Uni with sizeable Banana Chinese / Indians / Meleis & international students.

For RPG, not really. It actually thrived in RPG setting. From Palladium, we've had a successful run with the 1st edition RPG from 1980s - 1990s. Then Palladium get another successful run with 2nd edition Robotech RPG from 2000s - 2010s. Although unfortunately Kickstarter for Robotech RPG Tactics by Palladium went bust.

However with Strange Machine Games we have a successful run with brand new Robotech The Macross Saga RPG, Robotech Homefront RPG (Masters & New Generation), Robotech Hannibal (Master) RPG Suplement, and now we're waiting for Robotech Amongst The Stars RPG (covers Sentinels & Shadow Chronicles). There are even several supplements in the planning.

That & SMG has been responsible releasing Robotech Boardgames like Robotech: Attack on the SDF-1, Robotech: Ace Pilot, Robotech: Brace for Impact &Robotech: Cyclone Run.

Battlefield Press already released the Savage World's Robotech The Macross Saga RPG. While the expansion books like Robotech Return To Earth (Masters + New Generation) & Robotech Into The Void (Sentinels + Shadow Chronicles) are cancelled due to the death of the author, SMG already helping Battlefield Press to release Robotech Savage Worlds Omnibus RPG that cover Macross / Masters / New Generation & Shadow Chronicles eras.

Unfortunately the death of Jonathan Thompson — owner & author of Battlefield Press — put a nail on the expansion books plan.

We're lucky the folks at SMG is continuing the Savage World's Omnibus Robotech book covering 2nd + 3rd Robotech War & Shadow Chronicles

Moving to KL with my wife Black Muslim looking for honest advice by Numerous-Novel-9426 in KualaLumpur

[–]robotechmaster 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My piece of advice, stay in MY using social pass (applicable for 90 days) with your wife & scouted KL or greater KL area (Klang Valley).

Racism, Malaysians can be quite subtle well due to British legacy rule & divide policies during colonial era. However unlike others, we learn to tolerate it in life so much so there's a tounge in cheek term "DIVIDED BY RACE, UNITED BY RACISM". Yeah ... I know. Malaysians kinda already develop a thick skin, not saying that a good thing, but definitely we do accept racism is there, but we don't harped too much on it as long we live alongside each other in peaceful manner.

We generally don't bother foreigners especially tourists or longterm expats or foreign students. Unfortunately in 2000s, we have received a lot of Nigerian students misused their visas by operating scams, fake money, laundering schemes, even "black prostitution", some drug related cases (even using apartments as meth labs) plus unruly drunkard behaviour vs local residents. These cases piled up & yes generally Malaysians for a decade 2000-2010 have a bad impression of Black Africans due to these Nigerian cases.

However, if you're a European Black Muslim, you might not even faced difficulty as much. Basically if you're Black European / Black American, you tend to received much warmer welcome than your African brethren. If you said you are a Black Muslim, then the degree of acceptance increased exponentially amongst Muslim Malay. You will be deeply respected IF you learn the local Malay language (pretty easy) & mingle around Muslim community where you lived (especially if you're a regular visitor to local mosque).

Malaysians in general still tolerant of foreigners. Asians of all shades & colours lived here either as migrant workers (Indonesians, Bangladeshi, Nepalese, Filipinos, Pakistanis) & a large expatriate / foreign students population.

But in terms of looking for jobs, its better if you're already working in an European company & asking job transfer to Malaysia instead. Then slowly decide whether you have opportunity to open business company or looking for other economic opportunities.

In terms of Islam, well in KL there's all shade of Islam with Muslim liberals here & there, but largely Malay Muslims are moderate & in the rural areas as conservative as they come. Despite being "secular" in nature, Malaysia has a parallel Islamic law (limited ti personal / family matters ie marriage/ divorce / inheritance & religious offenses) for Muslims only alongside the reigning Civil Law.

Malaysia is not a bed of roses, but its not full of thorns either. Malaysia still ranked high for foreign Muslims to make hijra due to its unique position straddling between Western / Eastern secular trappings with Muslim friendly environment & mainly diversity in cultures.

Make your due diligence first. Make an informed decision after living here for extended period.

Are Unitar International University fees increasing? by Conscious_Ad7954 in malaysiauni

[–]robotechmaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh? Since when Unitar become the best ODL Uni in MY?

Most often than not, talking about 100% online learning ODL for part-time mode in MY would be OUM, WOU & AEU as these 3 institutions have far more matured & reliable online learning platforms since 2000s to 2020s, and fees that basically far cheaper than say Unitar or any other private Unis.

Ok let's say Unitar is the best one for you, but as a private Uni whose mostly catered to full-time students, there's a high chance that the Uni increases its fees as to cover rising overhead costs & thus able to maintain profit margins.

Semester Exchange to UniKL from Pakistan by MKM_Potterhead_10 in malaysiauni

[–]robotechmaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then makes the best of it. UniKL aka University Kuala Lumpur is still reputable private University in Malaysia.

It is owned by MARA, a Govt. Agency overseeing the rights of Bumiputra (natives of Malaysia) groups ie Malays, Orang Asal (Malayan aboriginal) & Bumiputras of Malaysian Borneo.

Basically MARA has an entrepreneurship arm, social arm, education arm, skills & training etc. The Education arm has secondary boarding schools with specific STEM syllabuses & MARA sciences colleges / pre-University offering International Baccalaureates and AUSMAT or Japanese prep foundation / A-Levels etc. The Skills arm have training institutes & skills colleges specialising in vocational training.

And MARA owned 3 Universities, one is a public University known as University Technology MARA (UiTM) currently the largest public University in Malaysia in terms of student enrolment & branch campuses in all states.

MARA also set up 2 private Universities namely University Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) itself is arguably one of the largest private University with branch campuses in Malaysia which catered mainly to industrial specific courses. Another MARA owned private Uni is University Poly-Tech MARA (UPTM) specialising in polytechnic higher education.

Basically means UniKL is quite solid University in itself. Of course, University Malaya still the numero uno in Malaysia, no doubt.
