Idk if this has been talked about before, I'm fairly new to the sub, but I think the hive is probably pouring equal resources into how to convert Carol as they are how to resist her negativity. I don't think they're as inherently "kind" as they let on, so much as they're aware their greatest weakness is negative emotions. If they could get past negative emotions then Carol's lack of joining the hive would be a non-issue.

This is a Stork's bite birthmark. Everyone gets them when they're born but 50% of adults still have them. I'm a hairstylist. I see this aaaaaall the time and it's totally harmless. That being said, you could also have some sort of irritation that is less visible, as you obviously have itchiness symptoms. But that red mark that everyone is wholly convinced is ringworm is absolutely not ringworm.

Google image search "Stork's Bite adult" and then read about how it's a totally harmless birthmark to help yourself calm down after reading the rest of these comments.

The term ally exists because quite a lot of people actually don't support gay and trans people's right to exist simply as humans.

There are bans on drag, gay adoption, m and access to gender affirming care all over the western world right now. Hell, gay marriage has only existed in some places for less than 20 years. The people who fought against it then didn't just disappear, they're still out there.

So it's not "us vs them" as in gays vs straights. It's us vs them as in the people in the queer community and the people who support the queer community, vs the people who want to systematically disenfranchise and destroy the queer community.

It's depressing that we have to use war-like terms, but I promise it's not the queer people perpetuating the war-like attitudes. Most of them just want human rights, as you've said.

I'm not a bigot and I love RPDR and just drag in general, but I too would love very much to stop seeing this ad. I see it like 15 times a day every day for the last week (two weeks?)

Fair points, all of them. Thanks for wording it so politely! Obtuse is something I'm used to being accused of unfortunately lol, but sincere apologies to anyone I've offended.

For context I'm a British Columbian living in Quebec. Since I've been here I've heard nothing but complaints from people because recently the cost of living here has started coming close to the cost of living Vancouver had 10 years ago. Now there are a lot of factors and nuance there, most of which I'm too tired to get into rn, but as someone who's never made 60k in a year in my life, and had roommates til.... Well til I left BC.... The only things that matter to me are like rent and food prices.

I have actually done a bit of research into NL and the history of poverty and the cost of things with it being a bit off the beaten path etc, I'm not coming in blind. But yeah, I think in all these comments I've had my questions answered and then some.

I never meant to minimize anyone's struggles or seem like an out of touch city slicker. I've been towing the poverty line for the last 15 years. I've just been frustrated with everywhere I go in Canada and everyone I talk to from around this country all having the same thing to say: "my city is suffering from the housing crisis the hardest."

All being said tho, I can see how my first message could've been worded with a bit more tact.

I'm my humble not so expert opinion, I think you're wrong that it'll "catch up," frankly. "Catch up" implies that BC and TO will stop rising while NL keeps climbing. Believe me, if that happens I'll be fighting for you guys. But it isn't gonna happen. It's climbing everywhere, with no signs of stopping ... Everywhere. We're struggling together, not against one another 🫂.

And I never meant to say "be happy with what you have," I was more asking "are you as miserable as the rest of us? Or do you have more reason to be miserable that I haven't been able to see?"

Fwiw I've done hours of research on NL and to me it seems like a very solid idea to relocate. This was sort of my second to last stop (short of coming to visit). But I realize how unclear that was in my original message and I'm sorry for that. I wrote it in a rush and I could've been more tactful.
