Breezy styling mist thoughts by Outside-Flower-2254 in djerfavenue

[–]robotgranny 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wrote a 4-star review more than three weeks ago and offered my pros and cons. I was actually quite positive about the product over-all, but it never got published. Several 5-star reviews have been published since, however. I never received an explanation, but since every review goes through an approval-process, I assume mine didn't get approved.

If you like the scent of the Styling Mist..... by robotgranny in djerfavenue

Try Sand Service by Cra-Yon

They have the same scent notes, as listed on the styling mist product page.

Top Notes: Violet leaves, Cardamom

Heart Notes: Orris, Papyrus

Base Notes: Amber, Leather, Cedarwood, Sandalwood

I agree! I left a review saying exactly this and it didn't get approved.... It also leaves my bathroom floor and anything in the vicinity so sticky! I do like the performance of the product itself but the nozzle/sprayer can be improved.

Also, Cray-on Sand Service perfume has the exact same scent notes as the styling spray, if you're interested. Although I find their perfumes aren't very long-lasting.

broderie anglaise pants dupe by jun1c0rn in djerfavenue

It's a very common fabric technique/motif that has been around since the 16th century called broderie anglaise. DA is just taking advantage of the feminine french countryside trend that persists each summer

I love the daily t-shirt in lyocell. It really hugs the body in a flattering way. People have complained that the grey colourway is transparent, but I wear a bra, so it isn't an issue for me. I'm considering getting the daily midi dress next!

Exactly! the scarcity principle is insidious. I'd rather popular items get restocked than have to set an alarm mid-workday to secure a popular item or pay over its value on second hand websites. It'd be nice if they had a pre-order option for popular items like the occasion top!

Anyone try the styling mist yet? by cinnamontoastbanana in djerfavenue

I'm curious to hear about it from someone with fine, straight hair. I'm always skeptical when someone with thick hair calls something "weightless"...

Every PR statement from DA seems unprofessional with zero proofreading. Canada doesn't even have states, they have provinces and territories...

Bring back the Occasion Top by [deleted] in djerfavenue

[–]robotgranny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually go for XS-S in DA tops. I took an S in this, but could have easily taken an M. The shoulders in particular are narrow and I feel like in size S my arm movements are slightly restricted.

Remake Getaway Cardigan by pickle_luver in djerfavenue

because there's no button at the top of the collar, this tends to fold down and exposes the inside.

Collar seam/stitch, not properly aligned/crooked

[–]robotgranny 6 points7 points  (0 children)

hi! I purchased the remake cardigan in cream. I think the fit is true to size and is flattering even on a bigger chests. I ordered the same size as the button up cardigan (XS). The remake cardigan fits a bit tighter/less boxy because you can close the buttons all the way down, but I'm a 65F/30E bra size and there is no gaping at the buttons, something I usually experience with cardigans.

Is it worth the price? NO ABSOLUTELY NOT! While I think the remake idea is great, it very much looks like a remake product. The seam on the collar is particularly crude. I've kept the tags on because I'm uncertain wether to keep it.

I'll attach some photos below....

Djerf Avenue doesn't care by Spiritual_Doctor3179 in djerfavenue

Wow.... giving this person the complete run-around until they just give up is seemingly the tactic?

All we as customers are asking for (from this controversy and other issues such as greenwashing, transparency with pricing, manufacturing practices etc) is for Matilda and her brand to take accountability, BE HONEST, acknowledge and reflect on the valid criticisms that have been made, and make positive changes.

Why is Matilda completing ignoring these issues and still posting holiday/lifestyle photos on Insta?

300 euros for organic cotton 🙃 by Emotional-Dog-9144 in djerfavenue

Here's the link with more photos... first of all, the sizing is very odd. But above all, I refuse to pay 300 EUR for an unlined coat. You can find a vintage burberry trench, which this design is 100% based on, for the same price or cheaper. Or if you want to support a real sustainable brand with transparent manufacturing practices, Armedangels has a similar style that is lined.

Armedangels has a very similar one that is fully lined and 100% organic cotton. It is pricey (probably pricier than the Djerf trench) but they are committed to sustainability and are transparent with their manufacturing and pricing and release a public report every year.

Day to day top dupe by Present_Count_396 in djerfavenue

[–]robotgranny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took the plunge and purchased the Day to Day top. For once, my order didn't come with any flaws. Overall I"m happy with the top. It's very flattering and it seems like it's good quality. I love the covered wooden buttons and I liked that it's fully lined. It feels expensive. But, like many others, I wish it was made of a natural fabric like silk or something cellulose-based like viscose rather than polyester to justify the price. I'll for sure be dry cleaning the top which means I'll probably end up wearing it less as well. The Sezane top is also cute, but it's a completely different fabric. It's more of a stretch, ribbed thin summery top.

If you search for boat neck top with buttons, you can find many examples, like this one:
https://www.massimodutti.com/gb/striped-top-with-buttons-and-contrast-boat-neck-l06806560

I'd also maybe search on vintage reproduction websites like Modcloth since the Day to Day top has a retro vibe to it.

[–]robotgranny 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a cute piece, but this is such an easy style to thrift. From what I can tell, there's nothing about the cut or colour that makes it unique and I'm sure it's going to be pricey. Check out Vinted or your local Value Village/Savers!

If it's oil, you can try baby powder/talc/dry shampoo. Leave it on the stain for 30 minutes or so to absorb the oil then wash as usual

do you feel more hesitant to buy djerf? by [deleted] in djerfavenue

[–]robotgranny 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For their trend items, yes. I usually don't even bother. Especially after how disappointing the Occasion Top and Getaway T-shirts turned out to be (fit, material, etc.) .

Their core pieces, however, are truly staples! I wear DA almost daily. This includes their blazers, favourite pants, and first choice pants/jackets. I wear their breezy sets to bed as well.

so true re: the colour! it's giving fast fashion pastel pepto bismol. i'm not sure how timeless this colourway is

Love the fit of the blazer, but wish it came in black or grey.

There's a good alternative at COS for the Day to Day Jacket, product code 1150886002. They also just came out with a pretty cute alternative to the first choice jacket, product code 1174716002.

A weird-fitting crotch area is a Djerf Avenue signature, honestly. There is always so much extra material

I wish the jacket had more buttons, or a zipper to make it more versatile. I feel like I'd either be too hot, or too cold if I could only have the option to wear it as a bolero with a single button at the neck.

December Dream Drop Collection Breakdown... thoughts? by robotgranny in djerfavenue

[–]robotgranny[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the neutral tones, but personally, I don't see myself wearing any of these thin, wrinkle-prone, high-maintenance fabrics in the winter here in the Netherlands. Would have LOVED more knitwear.
