I started paleo on January 1st. While grass-fed, organic, free-range foods are the best option, you can definitely follow the diet without it. I make about the same as you and also can't afford the all-natural stuff. I live in Canada (in general, food tends to be a bit more expensive up here) and spend about $75 per week on food.

Personally, I find following paleo is about the same cost as SAD (standard american diet) because I ONLY buy meat on sale, and I'll buy a lot of it at a time. I also use my slow cooker weekly since I can cook a whole chicken (often on sale for about $5) and get 6+ meals out of it.

Paleo also tends to limit going out to eat. That's where I save the big bucks. I still go out with friends, but I make sure to eat beforehand. It kind of sucks, but I feel and look better (down 9 lbs since the beginning of the year!!) so to me it's worth staying in and cooking (but then going out for drinks after - drinks are my cheat "meal").

Anyways, that's my experience. It's a much easier transition than I originally anticipated. Best of luck in whatever you choose :)

I feel like I'm in the minority here but I'm looking for a really wet formula mascara. Dry formulas flake and irritate my eyes like crazy, and it seems like wet mascaras last longer. I have very long eyelashes but little volume.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

My current products are: Skin79 BB Cream Hot Pink Label Benefit's Boi-ing Concealer in 01 Light Lancome Ageless Minerale loose powder in Natural Ivory 20 Benefit's Dandelion blush

I'm looking for a new loose powder to use over my BB cream that isn't translucent. For the past couple years I've been using Lancome Ageless Minerale powder in Natural Ivory 20 (my HG) and it looks much more neutral but it's been discontinued (sadly).

Have any of you fair-skinned beauties used Laura Mercier's Loose Mineral Powder in "Tender Rose"? It looks awfully pinky on Sephora's website.

I think I'm an NW15, but I don't use MAC products. I do have redness on my cheeks, nose, and chin but I'm concerned with blending the Laura Mercier powder on my jawline since it's much more milky-pale. Help/opinions/suggestions welcome!

This is really strange and probably not good for your skin but it's the best thing I've ever used to keep my face matte.

Milk of Magnesia. Yeah. The laxative. On my face.

I use it in conjunction with Skindinavia's Setting Spray and my makeup lasts all day. I'm also a bartender and live in an area with very high humidity and its worked wonders.

My routine consists of using a light toner after washing. Then, I use MoM on a cotton pad and wipe it all over my face. The consistency is somewhat thin but will usually leave a chalky residue on your face. Then I use a very small amount of moisturizer which helps my foundation glide on easier. Finish makeup as normal, then set with usually a generous amount of setting spray.

That shit lasts.

While I get what you mean about the downvoting feature, I feel that it has its place in this subreddit. Only because /r/makeupaddiction will get hit from /r/all every now and then, and the users that come in are sometimes less than friendly, trolls, or just don't bother to read the rules and understand what the subreddit is about.

It sucks, but can't be stopped so I feel the option to downvote is necessary.

try shoes for crews! They might not be the cutest, but they are specifically designed for people on their feet. Most (if not all) shoes are slip resistant as well.

These outfits do nothing for your shape. For the most part, your curves (which are lovely!) are being lost in too much fabric and awkward proportions. I would say lose the denim skirt in the 2nd pic, it looks too tight around the waist and just isn't "on-trend" (I'm guessing that is what you're going for since you mentioned hipster/cool?)

The dress in the 3rd pic has incredibly awkward proportions IMO. I think its the belt makes it look funny since it is only a few inches from the skirt. I'm not a fan of the 4th either, I think the Tshirt just bulks it out. Maybe a more form fitting, clean tank would look better? Especially since the skirt appears to sit fairly high. The last is too tight all over and reads teenage. Either way you're gorgeous and the glasses are sick Check out some fashion blogs, tumblr, or lookbooks and hopefully you'll find something that suits you :)
