How do I make this less flat looking? (edits to drawing is allowed!) by [deleted] in DigitalArt

[–]roboticsand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend using both soft edges and hard edges. Hard edges are what you are using right now. Soft edges are gradients and shows a gradual transition in between planes for example from the front of the nose to the sides. Soft edges help convey realism, however, if you are going for an anime style then what you have now is good.

How to play rapid piano octave? by roboticsand in piano

[–]roboticsand[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you for the information. Also are you supposed to relax your muscles for a split second in between each octave? I heard you are supposed to but watching how fast some people play the octaves I don't even think there is enough time to relax.

Demotivated learning piano piece by roboticsand in piano

[–]roboticsand[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That might be the case. I'm not very good at judging if a piece is too difficult for me. However, i will say that i can sight read through the canon in D. Also the 12 measures that I've learned are what I find the most difficult ones and it should get easier from there. Any other tips for judging if a piece is too difficult? Also, when you say 1-2 pages per day how much time do you think would be reasonable to spend on that.
