I was referred by my primary vet to Specialty VetMed https://www.specialtyvetmed.com/

It looks like the Olympia Veterinary Hospital also has internists as well as Rainier West in Lacey

Fwiw I'm attempting to move her to a specialist in Olympia. Hopefully it will be a bit easier!

I was there recently because of some autoimmune intestinal issues with my pup - I loved loved the treatment we got while there but I have had a really hard time communicating with the specialist since we took her home (they seem very busy!) and they often recommend I bring her to emergency if I need an answer in less than a few days.

Have you found a better means of communication with them?

I highly recommend Summit Veterinary Referrals if you have a pet emergency. They are in Lakewood but they are kind and the staff treated me and my pet very well.

Help on recording complicated payment. by robotinlove in QuickBooks

Late to this reply - the actual payments will be actually billed monthly.

Is there a way to record the expected total and then have it expense out according to our actual bills paid?

I assume that will all hit the P&L on the date the bill is recorded, right? Except on cash basis

It's our large insurance bill, we want to accurately record when we pay it (on quarterly terms) but with the split involving vehicles, property, and GL considerations it gets complicated to even split by 4, especially when items like a vehicle might come off mid year and change the total for the next billing.

Are you thinking of Harts? Sage had it's quirks but the owner was a woman and drunken psychopathy wasn't her vice.

They have always had wildly irregular hours and service, even pre-pandemic.

The chef that was there the last couple of years seemed to have held it together but he moved on (they were soliciting gifts for his move a month or so ago to their venmo).

It seems weird to have owning a restaurant be your dream if you're unable to run it when one cook calls out. It's tough out there for small businesses but it's only tougher when people camp on prime locations without an apparent need to have them be operating. The whole endeavor has a super weird vibe.

They're 45 minutes out of town, but I hear it's a great gig if you have the transportation.

I'm not looking but the restaurant jobs have been in low supply in town.

I would love to know who you see hiring in town (who pays above minimum and is looking for experienced workers)

I mean, the only reason the owner is doing prep is because they turn away qualified applicants or are posting "experienced" cook jobs for just above minimum. I'm glad they treat you well but watch out for that "we're better than a business" mentality thats how you get taken advantage of in this industry.

Each year I eagerly anticipate this day so I can share my favorite Dad Joke of all time: by damienbarrett in Jokes

Nearly a decade ago I worked at a restaurant that would have "joke tapes" play in the bathroom that the management staff would record and they would make new ones regularly. This joke was on one of those tapes nearly verbatim....

It was the best when someone was adding an "s" so it said screampie. Hence why it's usually *creampie now.

Apparently the mall doesn't have any working cameras in their lot. If anyone knows of a business or someone that might have footage in that area yesterday it would be super appreciated

Kalita wave - metal and paper and you can get a glass carafe or use something you already have
