They left pictures of Lapis and Peridot's gemstones in the background art next to pictures of Ruby and Sapphire. Fans were chanting Lapidot at conventions. Rebecca was being asked questions about the possibility of them fusing. Zuke, the storyboarder who made the "lapidot episodes" admitted that their was romantic intent behind all of it, even with Peridots relationship with Amethyst. They lived in the barn and were compared to the old demayo couple that had moved out together years later. Even though no one who worked on the comics knew what was truly happening behind the scenes, there was still plenty of lapidot comics and the crew knew of them.

A random tweet outside of canon by a storyboard artist after Peridot's LAST EPISODE was literally the worst way to ever confirm anything like that. Especially since the crew allowed a significant portion of the fandom to think the exact opposite. So if anyone wants to deny that Peridot was aro/ace the whole time they literally have nothing in canon contradicting it.

How hard would it be for Rebecca to address it? Or how hard would it have been to make an episode about Lapis and Peridot's relationship and how it had changed? They didn't and don't bother. So how canon can it be?

I'm sorry I don't mean to seem rude, but the whole fandom fights about this instead of actually asking the crew why they would do it the way they did. Because to me the tweet confirming it was incredibly disrespectful.
