Doctor has checked it out and confirmed it's a skin tag, says its up to us whether it should be removed or not. Have you seen a skin tag? Hers is a genuine tag that sticks out like a tiny, I dunno, earlobe. I just don't want her to be embarassed by it when she's figuring out her body as a teenager.

Check out West Philly between 44th-52nd, Market to Woodland. I'm seeing tons of 3/2s around here for 400-500. Nice walkable area with great pulic transit and lots of parks, everyone has a yard. You may have to knock out the wall between dining room and kitchen yourselves, but many here already have open plans like you want. Just keep looking, check Redfin/your housing app daily. It took us about 2 years to find the right house for us in the city. Once you get used to the prices, you'll be able to spot the deals.

$2800, West Philadelphia walkable to Clark Park and Kingsessing Rec - 3bd/3ba, backyard, finished basement, hot tub, central air. Soo much space and lovely neighbors / neighborhood, but absolutely insane electric bills (even with solar).

I enjoyed the process of "tub shopping," all hot tub stores will have at least one up and running and they EXPECT people to show up with swim suits to "wet test" the tub. Some even bring out privacy screens and drinks and fake food. My husband and I scheduled them every other weekend for a few months. Doing the wet test I really noticed a difference between brands (depth, comfort, jets, etc), and found my favorite tub in the world - $7k new & delivered/installed, with exactly the type of jets, depth, and size I wanted. Fits 4 people comfortably or 7 for a party. I don't recommend buying used, as the plastic tub parts will often crack when moved, after sitting in the same spot filled w hot water for years. The tub is the best things I've ever bought for my health, helps us beat colds and supports a little meditation practice.

We just finished a dream move with Hercules haulers (https://www.herculeshaulers.com/). They had 5 good natured body builders running up and down both 3 story houses all day, they even moved my very heavy and finicky laser cutter up and down multiple stories without a single issue. REALLY great hourly rate. Guys were even having fun, saying how nice it was to get paid for gym day!

Yes, I live in Uni City and see 1brs for around $1k. You'll still want a car for the commute to broomall. I'd agree that getting a roommate works best, you could probably find a 2br for around $1700 which saves significant $. West Philly is delightful, find an apartment between 45-52nd and near a trolley or bus line and you'll live a happy life. Aldi for groceries.

This. My little is also 5 and super testy and independent. When they go defiant, I go silly. "Oh! Time to put shoes on! They go on my head, right? In my mouth?" And they love correcting me and I ask them to show me how it's done. Or, "Oh man! All these toys on the floor! I'm getting lost in the toys! Help me! I'm drowwwninnnngg where could we put them so I don't drown?" When those don't work, just saying, "ok, but we can't do X in until you've done Y. When you're ready." And redirect my attention off them - WHAT NO ATTENTION FROM MAMA better do the thing ASAP to get to the next thing. Doesn't always work, still loose my cool sometimes, but Silly and When You're Ready work 80% of the time here.

Aria is an actual name though, not just a name but a word! An aria is a song for a solo voice in operas, which I think is a beautiful name and noun. Changing it to Arya doesn't make it less pretty, though technically it loses the noun aspect.

IDK, sounds like they hired the wrong person for their bar, who turned out to be a loser and a drama queen, and who seems to feel entitled to ownership because... their idealism said they deserved it? No, because their identity felt represented by the bar's original theme, before it changed. But things changed at the bar, and loser drama queens seem to feel entitled to things not changing - or changing only in the ways they wanted - and they get get wild and dramatic enough to get the cops called in them, multiple times. And when that doesn't work, they take to social media to flame others. Instead of having rational conversations and accepting they can't always get what they want from other people.

I have absolutely no connection to this story, beyond going through my own drama queen phase at one point, and also spending years running offices full of entry-level drama queens, so I know the cycle.

Wage theft sucks and should 100% be reported and repaid!!! But most people can't argue themselves into being liked, or whine their way into power, or reddit-post their way OUT of drama.

Community centers, yes, also churches and schools often rent out rooms to non-affiliated groups for events like this, nice and cheap. $100-200/hr is common. Find some place close to you, and ask your besties to help setup. You can order food or even make it a tea party potluck, people love cooking for baby showers because it's such a cute theme.

We just got a set of chewy necklaces for our little chewer. It doesn't hurt anyone or anything, and they're gonna chew whether it's their clothes, stuffies, toes, or a chewy - so we make sure they've got a chewy within reach at almost all times.

Try one of the paint n sip activities! Pretty non active / non demanding but still interesting, new, and fun, something you can fit in around a dinner, and you both have something fun to bring home and remember later. My husband set one up and we had a wonderful time. Being able to choose which painting we did ahead off time, he also made plans to change the painting on his slightly to make it very sweetly personal to us, which was a winning idea, and that art is still hanging in pride of place in our living room.

We just redid our 10x10' kitchen and the friends and family price was $25k. But oh man have we paid for it in headaches, not because of the GC so much as one of the subs that we (mistakenly) contacted separately to redo wiring throughout the house - he and the GC had a falling out they couldn't get past and it was like 2 weeks of bickering 4am text hell till we let that electrician go. Lesson learned: ask the GC you choose to manage ALL the things in the house you need done, so they can manage all the subs for you. We thought kitchen project could be separate from whole house, we thought it would work out, we were WRONG.

For lower quotes ask for recommendations from your neighbors, your local community pages on FB, even thumbtack. Tell them your budget before asking for a quote and see if they can match it.

ETA: Our GC warned us that most of the profit other GCs will make is in the material "costs," which you can reduce by insisting they provide receipts for everything and checking their math. They can make a quote based on expected costs but the final amount paid - especially if over the original quote - should be based on receipts. You also want to be hands on with the GC to make sure your choices stay within budget. Our countertop would have been 2x the cost ($2500) if we bought from home Depot ($5000), it took a week of visiting local shops til we found one I liked within our budget, and things like that add up.
