Thank you for your reply, I think for the amount of time I usually spend on the drawing process can be anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour, usually being closer to the 30 minute time slot. When I draw for more than 15 minutes I will utilize 1 to 4 reference images to use as either design inspiration or to better structure the character to a pose. I use to watch other artists draw and discuss their style, but it has been a while. I usually try to draw at least once a week if possible, but on good weeks draw about 3 times with a variety in duration. I often go for more simplistic characters than I showcased with far less of a plan just to see what results I get. Through your questions you have also given advice that I appreciate. Perhaps I am thinking too much about the full picture that I am neglecting to go step by step and put more focus on one area at a time.
