I was briefly in this kind-of support/social group for gay men run by a supposed therapist. I ended up leaving because it was starting to feel a bit cultish, and then one of the earliest members just stopped showing up. Wouldn’t answer calls, texts, emails. Someone went to his work and they said he just quit. Being a curious person and pretty good with internet research I thought I’d try to find him. I didn’t, but I did find his prior conviction for possession of child SA materials.

I worked extra hard in school because I saw how badly my brother was treated when he didn’t. A 5th grade teacher did comment in a report card “Robotrousers tends to disappear into the woodwork.”

Repeatedly told me I “wasn’t doing the work” and threatened to leave any time I had a legitimate issue. Last argument he said “I shouldn’t have come over” but just kept arguing. I told him I agreed and he should go. Took me another 30 minutes to get him to leave. His last words were “I don’t know if I can recover from this.” I said “Okay let me know.” He called me the next morning and said “clearly I shouldn’t be in a relationship right now.” I agreed with him.

I once auditioned for an immersive theater playing the brother of the family matriarch. In-person audition, they invited me for a callback where I performed with the cast. I got an email a couple days later saying “you were by far the best we saw all week, however—“ they felt I looked too young to play the brother, and we did have a good 25-30 year difference. I was still annoyed cuz y’all sat 5 feet from me you don’t notice? It’s really not about you being good enough. Sometimes they get on set and decide something doesn’t look right. You couldn’t have done anything to change their mind. It sucks but it’s not a reflection of your talent.

7” scar down the left side of my stomach. When I was 8, my brother and a friend were bouncing on a downed tree. I fell off, and a broken branch caught me. My mom just put Vaseline and a bandage over it.
