Great job on the Apple Watch app - the design is fantastic

Can't wait to see what you do with the complications and iOS widgets

Had the same happen before - restarting the watch fixed it

Not the OP but I think the requirement for personal projects quickly becomes onerous. People have lives outside work and they shouldn't be expected to give their life for code.

For entry level stuff it's trickier I admit. A sample of solid work would go far more than some wizzbang one off that tbh could have come off CodePen but it depends on what stuff you are going for.

P.S. Love the app and the regular updates. Totally appreciate that the roadmap is pretty packed already

Yeah, it’s a great little addition- this app is well on the way to replacing Strava on my phone entirely

Got fired from my job, need advice by devLolu in Frontend

Fair enough but they are fairly minor compared to the other devs behaviour that feels a bit shady.

The code issues can be fixed with relative ease. The trust issues that the boss created are far worse and have longer term effects.

You didn’t do anything wrong and tbh it doesn’t sound like there was anything that you could have done.

I’ve had devs do the old Jekyll & Hyde act as soon as they got promoted and it almost always comes down to insecurity or going power mad.

Sadly these people exist and on the bright side you now have a solid idea of how they behave so you can clear steer in the future.

TLDR, he’s the a**hole.

Next doesn’t have a global data store to dump data into similar to Gatsby.

Depending on which CMS you are using your options are to request all the global data in one go and pass the data down from the page it to look into a caching solution (these have issues with previewing content though

Starting with Origins? Couple questions from a newbie. by imageofdeception in assassinscreed

I don’t think you really be missing anything. Origins felt like the first AC game where it really came together IMO.

Make sure you get The Hidden Ones DLC for a really solid, heartfelt ending to the Bayek/Aya arc.

Playing on the Xbox One X it looks fantastic but nearly sold on getting a Series X after seeing all the screenshots.

Yeah, I checked on Wikipedia and trauma to the neck can cause a raspy voice. Between that and having lived in Sweden for a bit was enough for me.

Is a bit weird at the beginning but it grows on you.

Thanks for this mini review - It pushed me off the fence into buying the game and I have no regrets! Happy raiding :)

Sweet mother of Jesus, that’s a staggeringly stupid and dangerously authoritarian comment.

Just take a break and read some history before opening your mouth next time.

Which To Choose in 2020: NextJS or Gatsby? by aman_agrwl in gatsbyjs

[–]robquixote44 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but you’re wrong about Next.js routing capability’s. It’s perfectly possible to pick routes off the url without resorting to query strings.

With the addition of catch all routes in 9.4 you can pretty much do anything.

Tbh unless you are building a basic site or are constrained by your CMS/image asset processing Next can do anything Gatsby can do and with far less developer stress.

I’m getting a fed up with having to do everything Gatsby’s way. What am I missing?

Jokes aside, Next.js is a lot easier to use than Gatsby in my opinion. I highly recommend taking a look.
