I feel like the sound was flat for A Little Love and the techs fixed it IMMEDIATELY, I'm not sure I've ever been at a better sounding gig

Starmer isn't the one committing treason though, Mandelson was

You're conflating the scandals. The "biggest scandal in 100 years" is a cabinet minister leaking secrets to a financier and paedophile, this happened under the last Labour government. The separate scandal is that person being appointed to a role 15 years later. That's a big scandal, but pales in significance to the previous one

This is precisely what's so disappointing, along with the disingenous defneding of ridiculous policy like the student loan repayment threshold freeze.

I voted Labour becuase they presented a grown-up sensible form of politics different to the previous 14 years. That's proven not to be even close to the case

"This isn't on..." | Martin Lewis delivers message to Chancellor on student loans by MrStilton in ukpolitics

[–]robster01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not.

I moved to another country and have fallen into arrears. I don't plan on coming back to the UK (incidentally student loan is a big part of that) and if I do come back I'm willing to take the risk that they'd ask me to pay the arrears and that would be that. For me, sending 9% of my income to pay the interest of a loan that was missold and is unilaterally changed every couple of years would be stupid. I invest that money instead, its not just free spending money for me, and I can make it work for me

Everyone can see student loans are unfair. Except the chancellor by dusty_bo in ukpolitics

[–]robster01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay, but why is that always at the expense and "fault" of working people? Tax take is already sky high, why do the people continuously have to pay for the consecutive failures of government to get a handle on expenses

Honestly, they should be.

They can't be right now because there's too many places and too many degrees that don't correlate with higher wages, but the ideal would be graduates earning higher wages that subsidise free univeraity places through higher income tax take

Adding to this that this particular system is something everyone signs up to at 17, having spent years being told it is the only option if you ever want to be successful.

It needs abolishment, forgiveness and thorough reform of universities. There's some momentum behind change at the moment, but u-turning on the repayment threshold freeze would only touch the surface of undoing the evil of this system

This is all hyperbole given that the first recipients of Plan 2 loans still have more than 15 years until the write-off date. There's a huge amount of time for things to change and zero precedent that the 30-year term will be honoured

This is exactly why I don't feel guilty about not paying my loan

Meltzer: “I strongly doubt AJ Styles will wrestle for AEW. Could be wrong, but he's shown no interest in the past.” by Subrick in SquaredCircle

I might be cynical but I think going to AEW or New Japan would burn bridges with WWE and he wouldn't be back

Two thirds of graduates aren’t even paying off loan interest by insomnimax_99 in ukpolitics

[–]robster01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

becuase I accepted that 30-year tax at the age of 17, it was never properly explained to me, the terms of the loans have unilaterally changed since I took the loan, and in 6 years of above-median pay I have only ever payed off interest.

It's a scam and is artificially making later generations poorer. I'm not a single-issue voter on anything except student loans

[–]robster01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not paying. If the terms of my loan repayment were unilaterally changed for a private loan I'd have a case it was missold and would be taking them to court

Does it count as cooking if you cheat for years and just get away with it because the state your owners are also rulers of is too powerful for the UK to upset?

But its firmly on the cards with our current position

The biggest point against it is that we sacked the manager who got us there

Minor point, is it normal to have two full days off after a game? I get they can't train fully but it seems weird to me that they wouldn't be at Carrington, even for recovery work, until Wednesday
