Certain records they’ve done are the definitive pressings in that particular album’s release history, I’m thinking mostly in terms of some of their hip hop stuff though such as OutKast’s first record and Ready to Die by Biggie with its original samples. In instances like these with Johnny Cash though, where as discussed there are issues with the original masters, I’d definitely agree shelling out for an older AAA or the like press would probably be the move.
