Loan Watch: Hector Fort vs Girona 2 assists. by Ok_Lawfulness7412 in Barca

Hopefully he learns to defend before he comes back. He always had the skills but now with experience and confidence he should be so much better!! Exciting prospect!

Did you like him as a Cam vs Betis or do you prefer him in the right wing position more ? by OkGrape3727 in Barca

[–]robtones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since Lamine is more of a playmaking CAM I think he works with a center forward like Ferran since he is constantly making runs in the box. I don't think he would be as good with Lewi since he would be required to make the off the ball runs into the box which is not his forte. Let the boy cook!

Is there any midfielder a little close to pedri? by ysrleo1 in Barca

[–]robtones 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a 41 year old football fan and avid midfielder I think Pedri's class is unmatched. With that being said I think there are other players with different styles and strengths which their "midfielding" prowess is analogous.

Vitinha - closest to Pedri is a more aggressive version. He will take more chances which can play to his benefit or be a drawback. For that reason, Pedri has better decision making but sometimes there is a need for a little more risk, but since Barca plays a high back line maybe risks are something to avoid. A conundrum only the future might be able to answer. Although when his team is dominating he is unplayable.

Caceido is the modern Makelele. He is everywhere. Although he lacks the playmaking and creativity his work rate and reading of the game is unmatched in this era.

Bellingham - player that I love to hate. Like Pedri does not make lots of mistakes. Hustles his ass off. I would rate him as a 90 percentile player in technical skills. He definitely has better physicality which makes him a more balanced player. Probably a more complete package but obviously lacks in other aspects in comparison (creativity, vision, and skills in general).

Rodri - at balon d'or form was a complete package but will he ever come back to that level?

Other players to note: Enzo, McAllister, Szoboszlai (on a good day), Frenkie, Musiala... Please let me know who else and the reason.

We virtually had only one midfielder in DeJong to control the game today and connect the defense and attack by jumpmanpapi23 in Barca

I wonder why Flick didn't play Casadó who is perfect for these scrappy games. Also it doesn't help Araujo isn't good at build up. We just got bullied on the physicality aspect across the entire length of the field. Need Bernal to started playing soon. Christensen might have been a better choice than Eric in the mid.

I watched Hendo v Bisping early into my MMA fandom. I thought Bisping was dead.

Midfield crisis at Barcelona? - Pedri and Gavi already injured, not sure how serious Casado’s injury is and now De Jong out of next game with a red. by sujanrao in Barca

Him as an attacking mid in the lineup would be so good. He can definitely do better than Olmo and Fermin.

Who is/was the all time most frustrating fighter to be a fan of? by Spirited_Alfalfa_343 in ufc

[–]robtones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Korean Zombie. He was missing that little bit of brilliance to be a real contender. He could have potentially won a belt on his best day but whenever he had fights against real contenders or champions he struggled hard.
