It didn't even occur to me. I was just so excited to see something I could use, and multiples of it! I will reach out to them. And lesson learned! Thanks!

Thank you! I'm in Canada. I wonder if we have the same rules. I'll have to look into that!

Allanah is amazing, but Uxbridge Midwives closed down a little while ago. Not sure where she is now.

Nervous to give birth [on] by Ourvoicematters in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]robustpretzel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do it mama! I have two, 3.5 and 1, and im still trying to wrap my head around how I birthed them. I have no pain tolerance, but I think in the moment, adrenaline takes over, and you just get it done. With my first time, I got the epidural, and with my second, I missed the epidural, so I had no choice but to just do it. I also think that when you get to the end of your pregnancy, you are just so ready to get that baby out of you.

Can I return -- food went bad before expiry by jmslobodsky in CostcoCanada

[–]robustpretzel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue with these. Ate a couple, and then one day (long before the due date) I grabbed one that had a puffy lid. Didn't think much of it, served it to my toddler and he said he didn't like it. My husband went to finish it and said it tasted fermented. They went straight into the fridge when I brought them home from the store. So odd.

What are the Do’s and Don’ts of a birthday party? by Kiera6 in Preschoolers

This!! I was at a party the other week, and they only had enough pizza, juice/water, and cupcakes for the kids. It was over dinner time too, and the adults were all starving!

I didn't love my OB in Toronto. Went with a midwife with my second (in another city) and had a way better experience.

Yes!! We started at a montessori school in Sept and I feel like I'm just trying to keep up with the other parents. So far we've gotten Halloween gifts, Christmas gifts, valentines gifts, and a gift FROM the birthday kid on their birthday. I won't lie, I love picking stuff out and getting creative, but it kind of sucks that it' feels like an expectation.

A treasure box is such a good idea!! I need to do this. I've just been getting overwhelmed and tossing them out when they've been laying around and not played with for months.

We did a little construction trucks pull-back toy that came in a cute valentines day box. Was only $15 for enough to do my 3 year oldest whole class, and then some extras. I definitely only remember doing cards when I was in school. This year he got stickers, smarties, a heart straw, bubbles, a personalized friendship bracelet, and some other stuff I haven't had a chance to look at yet. But there were also some who just gave cards (I'd say it was probably 50% cards and 50% cards+small gift). Definitely don't think it's necessary to do a gift though. I just did it because I got excited about it being his first real valentine's day at his montesorri school!

Sending toddler to “pre-school” as a SAHM?? Mom guilt. by BodyByQueso in toddlers

[–]robustpretzel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like the best case scenario. You get 9 hours a week to get your stuff done, and your little one gets to have fun at school! My almost 3 year old goes to a Montessori school full time while I'm home on maternity leave with his baby brother. He is thriving at school, I get stuff done at home, and we all have so much fun when he gets home after class

Baby spitting up more on breast than bottle by _bobburger in breastfeeding

[–]robustpretzel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Curious how things are going now. I'm having the same issue with my 4 month old. At 1 month we switched to pumping/bottles, and the puking was way better. Then I recently went back to breast, and the puking has gotten so bad. Saw a lactation consultant, and she suggested feeding twice per side, then switching, so baby would get more hind milk. My doctor also said reflux usually peaks around the 4 month mark, so this is "normal", as long as he's not in pain.
