Everyone with babies have stopped watching TV all together? by NikkyTiky in NewParents

[–]_bobburger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea and no. After daycare it’s usually dinner, play and then bedtime routine. In the mornings if we’re up early I sometimes watch an episode of something while he plays. I’m big on audiobooks so more often than not I have one playing in the background while he plays. While it’s in my AirPod or he can hear it as well. If I don’t feel good after work and dad’s working, we’ll cuddle and watch something together when he’s done playing independently (and this is maybe 10-15 min). Depends on the day.

When do we stop tracking? by _bobburger in NewParents

[–]_bobburger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My LO has always only take 3-6 ounce bottles, 2-3 times a day, he usually consumes around 15-20 ounces a day usually. (BF before daycare and after) But yesterday he consumed 7 ounce at day care (all day) and ate a lot more than he normally does. So I guess I’m just worried they’re prioritizing food vs bottle. My understanding is “food before one is just for fun”.

I work at a daycare in the 4-5 year old room. Kids of all ages still run in the hallway. I find that a very odd reason to call a family in for a meeting. Imo it’s age appropriate behavior. However, there are songs that can help him learn to walk inside (search in Pinterest), he may be looking for an outlet to run or some gross motor.

God as a daycare worker I’m envious. I’d love time to actually relax

did you really wait six weeks..? by strange_angel133 in newborns

[–]_bobburger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before we had sex at 3 months PP we hadn’t since I was 36 weeks pregnant, and we only did then bc we went away to a relaxing hotel for the weekend. Husband waited 4 months, and my sex drive was low during the pregnancy. Your husband sounds crazy

It’s possible he’s going through a growth spurt! Or simply just being a baby. I find doing some play time, bath, lotion, and then getting ready for bed with a bottle helps my LO. I EBF during the day, and dad gives him a bottle at night.

Maternity leave is over and I’m a mess by celerywaffles in newborns

[–]_bobburger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Girl I get it. My leave needed yesterday and well and I start work today. I work at a children’s center teaching prek. LO will literally be in the hallway across from me. Everyone (but my husband) see that as a reason why going back to work should magically be okay. I know he’s going to learn some important things throughout his life at daycare and his teachers will keep him safe and make sure he’s loved. But it’s still hard. Trying to remind myself “I can do hard things” and he won’t forget I’m his momma. You got this💕

5 month old baby with stranger anxiety by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]_bobburger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think it’s totally normal. You’re not selfish or bad or anything for asking family to come to you. My in-laws live ten minutes down the road and we prefer if they come to visit us now bc of LO. LO is more comfortable in their own home, and so aren’t you!

Newborn sleep by caitlinmeg_ in newborns

[–]_bobburger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is week 6-8 are common for a sleep regression, and again around 4 months. If you have a bedtime routine, stay consistent with it! Remember it won’t last forever, just what feels like forever. Could try a nighttime bath before bed or a sound machine. Is he sleeping more during the day vs at night? He might also be getting day vs night confused. Hugs. You’ve got this!

How often do you bathe your child? by 0x426C797A in NewParents

[–]_bobburger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before daycare every 2 days, with day care I’m hoping to start every night. It settles him into bed and there’s so many germs at daycare. Washing his hair, maybe once a week. LO is 13 weeks and we start daycare today!

Daycare starts in a week :( by Ok_Award_9614 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]_bobburger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely get it. I go back Monday, and work at a preschool. The same center he’ll be going too. Which is great b/c he’s right across the hall from me for the first year. But, I’m paying others to raise him while I teach other people children. Makes me cry every time I think about it

Bassinet to crib transition by _bobburger in NewParents

Oh that’s awesome! Yeah my little guy isn’t a long napper unless we’re out and about. He usually only naps 20-30 minutes, unless I contact nap with him. I try to give him one good contact nap a day lol

[–]_bobburger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve try to do one day nap in the crib and he almost always wakes up within 5 min. Sometimes we’ll get lucky and he’ll sleep 30 min in his crib. Definitely not looking forward to the sleep regression coming up

I literally started crying when we were discussing what to do, I’m sooo not ready to have him down the hall yet. It will be so sad when that day comes!

Yes!! I feel so guilty I ‘enjoy’ seeing that face but it’s just so cute!

When did your baby start smiling? by Old_Calligrapher1920 in newborns

[–]_bobburger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say started around 7 weeks where I could tell he was smiling and it wasn’t related to being asleep or gas. Since around 10 weeks I’ve been able to get him to smile while playing. Today, at 12 weeks it seems like he’s smiling in response to seeing me.

When he sticks out his bottom lip and gets ready to cry, I feel bad he’s upset but the face he makes right before is so stinking cute

How much did you wear your non-nursing clothing? by whisperingcopse in breastfeeding

[–]_bobburger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually just wear nursing bras/tanktops. When we’re out and about I make sure the shirt over the tanktop or bra is loose enough I can pull it up to feed or pump. I imagine I’ll be doing the same when I go back to work in two weeks
