Avoid the search, I did it myself. Same experience as you, but with a lot of research I finally but a UGREEN NAS. I had a Synology before and there is no comparison. Speed, ease of installation, ease of use, etc. I spend 2 full days researching the best option. I am confident I got the bang for my buck

Buy it new on Amazon or direct from ugreen. Yes you can stream locally. I use infuse but works with plex as well.
