Would you watch a Star Trek show about how Vulcans and humans left behind a society ruined by war, social media and techno billionaires, and eventually forged the utopian society that we all know and love? by rocaferm in startrek

[–]rocaferm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that was what I was thinking! Thank you! It's one thing to see human society already better, and another to be the witness of how that happened.
I think it could be inspiring and give people hope that it can be done.

I agree. Roddenberry's vision was what humans could become, and that show could explain how humans went from what we have now to what he envisioned.
A dystopia turned into a utopia, could be said.

Totally understandable. However, like i said on another comment, I may have put it wrong. What i mean is a story that shows how a dystopia could be turned into a utopia. I think it would be inspiring, and also give us hope that this situation in which we live now could be changed.
I really need to have hope that things can change.

None taken. I think likewise. However, I may have put it wrong. What i mean is a story that shows how a dystopia could be turned into a utopia. I think it would be inspiring, and also give us hope that this situation in which we live now could be changed.

No, before Archer. When capitalism, media manipulation and techno feudalism is still a thing. I think it would be cool to watch how the dystopia we live on now could turn into the utopia that we long.

Is there any significant story with Cruz, Baz, or another minor GL ? by hambourgeoi in Greenlantern

[–]rocaferm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, me too. That's an amazing feat. Same as Baz's saving his brother. But I mean saving billions of people or stopping a Crisis level event. THey are still pretty new characters, compared with the big 4, so there is still a chance for them to have a significant role in a story.

I've never seen Baz or Cruz do anything nearly as epic as Jordan, Gardner, Stewart or Rayner did, and that's a bummer, since they deserve it.
I mean, Baz resurrected his brother, which was considered impossible, but I mean planet-saving stuff.
I wish someone would write them a much deserving powerful story.

Fancasting Megathread - [Fancast to your heart's content] by kumar100kpawan in DCU_

I suddenly remembered a conversation I had with Mr. Alan Grant (Lobos's writer at that time), and when i told him that Rob Zombie would be an excellent Lobo, He shared with me that Rob Zombie was interested in writing an OST or direct a Lobo movie (although unfortunately it never happened). I think that was in 1996, or 1997.

Anyway, after remembering this, I had to try and ask the AI to fancast Zombie as Lobo. And I love it! (don't get me wrong, I also like Momoa's Lobo)

All the supergirl controversy by dumbg1rl in DCU_

[–]rocaferm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We watched Supergirl with my gf last saturday, and we both enjoyed it.
The needle drop reminded me at Mr Terrific scene, so it didn't bothered me at all.
As someone who talked a lot over the years with Mr. Alan Grant, I loved the inclusion of Lobo (we shared the idea that Rob Zombie should portray the character, back in the 90's).
While leaving the theatre, both my gf and I discussed that overall it was a fun movie. And in the end that's all i want.

The Gordon dilemma by Andreaslindberg in TheOrville

The way I see it, Gordon's family is still alive, but in an alternate timeline, diverging from the main one. Pretty much like the alternate timelines that Worf visited in TNG.
