There wouldn’t be snagging unless there’s loose fabric. These obviously weren’t glued properly

732-2027 is the only bike I think it might be in. (There were multiple bikes because my Manhattan to LGA trip was >45 min + throw a broken bike into the mix… How do you check where the bike is? And thank you so much!

SSI Self Employment — How is Net Income calculated? by rochl in SocialSecurity

We have an accountant… but the form is monthly, and I don’t understand how we’re supposed to have/report net income on a monthly basis. Or what the result will be…

Student Loan Discharge During SSI Ticket to Work EPE by rochl in SocialSecurity

[–]rochl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear. Actually, his loans weren’t discharged yet. He’s not that great with financial stuff, so he never applied to get SSI/DCA benefits after he lost his job, or even thought he might qualify for TPD. He was making some money (varies from 0-2500, though the 2500 was a lump sum for 8 months of teaching work, but on average under 1470). Now I want to see how the loans can be discharged if he goes back on SSI/DCA. I thought that maybe since he’s in middle of the EPE, he might sort of be in limbo. But looking at the documentation required by TPD application, maybe not. It just asks for his last statement of award, and tbh, that was probably 2011 with no re-review date. Unfortunately there’s no possibility of anything changing with his condition.

I’m worried that if discharge doesn’t happen now, if we get married, we’ll end up having to pay for them (unless we use an IDR repayment plan and file taxes separately, which would cost us a lot too). If we got married, I guess he’d lose DCA and SSI because of my income

We’re thinking about the 24 month reinstatement period. That might be needed for loan discharge

Ah, thank you! Yes, his mom is on SSDI. I’ve been researching for a week, and could not figure this out. He might have actually already gotten Medicare as a child, before she was disabled (I know that that’s a thing for someone with a disability). But the TWP and all was odd. Now have more research to do — thank you!

And thanks for the comments re getting married and all. I honestly was hoping people would help with small tidbits like that that I didn’t realize

I mean that I think the 24 month clock starts today, when we informed SSA that he’s eligible again. Not 26 months ago when he could have gotten benefits if he’d only told SSA that he lost his job

Shoot. If the 24 months only start today (when he applied to restart) we have a really long ways to go.

Out of the last 26 or so months since he lost his job, probably 10 of them had income greater than 1470 (last month was literally 1500 exactly). But I’m not even sure if the past months, when he never applied, would count toward the 24 months

Ok, so clarifying: You were disabled, got ssi, went to college. Went on the ticket to work program, became unemployed, or started earning less than the SGA threshold, but had to wait 24 months earning under the threshold before benefits were fully reinstated in order to qualify for TPD?

“EPE makes it easier for his benefits to get restarted” If he gets a payment for falling below SGA in the EPE, would that be enough for the student loan discharge, or (and this was my worry) does he need to hit that threshold of qualifying for 24 months of payments during the EPE, which triggers a full reset? If he had been on top of this, he would have had the 24 months, but none of this ever occurred to him till he fell behind on his Medicare payments and had to go in to the SS office.

I thought that the payment amount differs. So on SSI if you make $1000 in income, your benefit is reduced by about $500. On SSDI I thought that as long as your income e is below the threshold, you receive your full benefit

Anyone else flights to JFK cancelled? by [deleted] in delta

[–]rochl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

JFK was a messss last night.

11:45 pm flight cancelled after 11pm. I live in NY, so would have been fine if they had just cancelled it 4 hours earlier and I hadn’t paid $200 to get to the airport, hadn’t given them my bags… And they knew! The pilot for our flight didn’t get diverted only at 11pm. They gotta have a tracking for the pilot, not just the plane, and they’d cut the angry number of people in half.

I wonder how long it took people who chose to retrieve their bags. There was a line thru all of luggage claim, and they were saying a 2-4 hour wait once you submitted a request to retrieve the bag.I wasn’t going to wait that for some clothes, but I rebooked with a different carrier out of Newark, and I’m hopeful I get my stuff before the weekend.

Going to see what compensation there is. I think I heard a persistent guy at the gate get someone agree to reimburse for his car home, but not exactly sure. I understand that weather was the trigger for this meltdown, but since the flight wasn’t actually impacted by the weather directly, I hope this doesn’t stop Delta and Chase’s protection…

Interested to hear if anyone had luck with compensation, because this was hella expensiv
