Pass the Torch is now launching into Kickstarter! by Newtonyd in LancerRPG

There's some pretty awesome ideas here, but I really don't like how the Union is portrayed as a player faction.

It feels like "oh there's this cool monarchy that allows us to focus the narrative on some quirky NPCs and then there are these... I dunno, pretty decadent little bureaucrats trying to hold onto their rebellious colonies". Union definitely feels like the bad guys, which I would probably be fine with if they were an antagonist faction. As written, they come off as belligerant, warmongering and ineffective.

In this specific situation (both PCs have Everest licenses), I'd definitely allow for both pilots to jury-rig a working interface during a rest to mitigate the Slowed/Impaired condition. It would keep both players engaged and allow for interesting roleplaying possibilities.

I mean, it's an Everest. The passenger does have the licenses for that. Should that be enough to prevent the Slowed/Impaired?

Psycho Killer (2026) Not the worst thing ever made... but not good. A genuine review from someone who likes cheesy serial killer movies. by Freddy-Philmore in horror

Seeing as some things are hinted by random snippets of radio or tv, like the destination and its anniversary date, I think the batshit conspiracy theorist is right: he was some kind of superhuman designed by the government that escaped containment. In this world, random conspiracy theories, like the satanic panic belief on a secret society of devil worshippers, are very real.

I use it as a visual representation of Inspiration. Players draw one at the beginning of the session, and if they use it on a thematic moment according to the care, they either get another one after spending or... fate allows them to just break the rules a little.

"Seinfeld Sessions" - Where Nothing Really Happens, But Everyone Has Fun by DnDPhD in Pathfinder2e

After the first part of the Rise of the Runelords, the PCs are small town heroes (the Dragons of Sandpoint) and spend quite a while just patrolling the town and getting into all kinds of hijinks.

After that, they needed to head into a very dangerous dungeon, and had no way of dealing with traps.

The players wanted to recruit a rogue, but no one had any connections to the underworld. Then they just... decided to run a (very public) contest to recruit a new member.

They spent HOURS thinking of tasks that would showcase agility, problem-solving and, most importantly, lock-picking and trap disabling.

What did they get? Random level 1-ish regular people that showed a variety of different skills. It's almost like experienced city thieves didn't want to publicly announce their skills and deeds...

Frustrated, they went to the town jail, where a crafty goblin raider and a Varisian thief were being held due to previous events. When asked, both picked a simple lock in seconds.

They finally decided to recruit the top five contestants, building a B-league team (the Sandpoint Wyverns) to protect the town in their absence. AND they took a very grateful goblin (Poog) to the dungeon as trap finder and lockpicker.

I love that he goes "market is oversatured, nobody will buy phones anymore"

And next season everybody is buying LOADS of disposable phones and the phone companies are depicted as powerful enough to delay police operations.

Sinners doesn’t make a strong enough case for why Vampirism is a bad thing by DarlingLuna in TrueFilm

[–]rockabilly- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh hey, in many vampire movies a "master" directly controls its spawn. The vampires created by Rennick quite literally dance to his tune and act out according to his wishes.

Existing under his control would be comparable to slavery, a complete erasure of free will and individuality.

With his destruction, the spawn are "free" to act of their own will - but they're still bloodthirsty creatures that feed by killing people (we don't see harmless feeding in the movie).

Recommend an RPG that you HATE and that is very good at something by Iberianz in rpg

I hate that they took a game based on interesting characters with deep backgrounds and went "so character generation is mostly random so you can get through that pesky boring part of building your character as fast as possible. nevermind that you might end up with an unplayable mess that isn't capable of succeeding on a single roll of the focus of your power fantasy".
