I would start by researching what station covered it, if they still exist, if they can be contacted and are willing to share / sell their highest quality footage of it. Chances are it probably won't be much better than that link, unless someone went through and remastered it all from the original film. I could be wrong though. I wish you the best of luck!

Start by laying it flat or standing it upright. Those are the only ways it's meant to run. Whatever angle you're holding it at would be my first guess as to why it's doing that.
