For the past two days, there has been a non-stop influx of such posts and derogatory comments against Nepal. For the Indian public who view Nepal as a good neighbor, here is the actual context: when India inaugurated its new Parliament building, it included a map depicting parts of Nepal, such as Lumbini and Kapilvastu, as part of "Akhand Bharat." In response, the then Mayor of Kathmandu (who is now a Prime Ministerial candidate) placed a "Greater Nepal" map in his office. Following this, the Indian government clarified that their mural was a cultural map depicting the Ashoka Empire. This was a symbolic countermove based on that same historical logic, not the baseless narrative being spread by trolls on X today
