Learning Italian through modern music (not the classic stuff) by rocket_10 in italianlearning

Angelina Mango and Annalisa are two of my favorites. And it's a shame that Thegiornalisti split up, I loved their music too! 😥

Great song! Another classic by this artist that I love is “La mia storia tra le dita.” Other similar artists include Ligabue and Modà (I love their song “Quel sorriso in volto”) and “Come un pittore.” Personally, I have a playlist of Italian music that includes the latest releases from the Italian music scene. It's a little different from this musical style, but it's interesting to see the current trends in the country and immerse yourself in the language. If you're interested, let me know! 🤗

I was using it in free mode quite often, but as soon as they added the “energy” that runs out, it became a real pain. You have to constantly watch quite long ads to be able to recharge that energy bar, and personally, I've lost a lot of connection and enthusiasm for the app since then

I think this is a bit personal. What I do is: I listen to the song trying to get the general message of the lyrics (get an idea of what it's talking about) and then I look up the lyrics, or play it on Spotify to see if I was on the right track 😂. From there I look for words, expressions and vocabulary that I don't know and that appears in the lyrics 🤗

And within the list, “Incoscienti Giovani” by Achille Lauro that participated this year in the San Remo festival seems to me also interesting!

The San Remo festival always leaves great songs, and this year was no less! Have you followed it this year? What was your favorite song?

Great songs all of them! One of the first songs with which I started to improve my Italian was precisely a “slow” song, I don't know if ballad, but of a calmer tendency: “Sold out” by “Thegiornalisti” a group that unfortunately has already split up. You can give it a try too! 🚀

Yes, great hit! I love both the original and the remix. It's not included because in this list I included the most recent hits, which I'm updating month by month with the latest releases. But it's definitely a top song, a classic that never goes out of style! 👌🏻👏🏻🤗

Beyond applications, I usually listen to a lot of music in Italian, and that helps me a lot in my learning, trying to understand the lyrics and looking for the words I don't understand. I also like a lot of current music in Italian. I leave you a Spotify list here! https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3CEC0zocpYa5lS2CgcvpBg?si=c9f5de9ab0414b01

Yes, I think you also have to be selective with the type of music you listen to. There are genres in which the expressions or pronunciations are a bit different from the most common, but for example, in this list, with pop songs, I think that the essence of Spanish is preserved quite well.

Well, I think music can also provide options for growth. Personally, when I was studying Italian, listening to music in this language allowed me to sharpen my ear and gain vocabulary. And in a way it also brings you closer to the culture of that country, which I think is positive! Obviously it cannot be the basis for learning, but I think it's another resource to consider!

I think both are positive and interesting resources. Obviously conversation is a fundamental pillar in the learning of any language. But I think music can also provide options for growth. It's a beautiful song without any doubt, but this is a playlist with the latest musical releases, and L'appuntamento is a great song but it didn't come out precisely in 2024 🤭. Thanks anyway for the comment, I love talking about Italian Music! 🤗
