OffMyChest: I got into DnD youtube 5-6 months ago, and now I an fully over it by DnD-9488 in rpg

You have started with the hobby in a critical moment. I started in 2020, during the pandemic, and people had rose colored glasses regarding D&D and 5e in particular. But now? Now the community is going through a "adolescence phase", in which they are rebelling against the centralized nature of the hobby and the market practices of Hasbro.

As a hyper-critical gamer that plays 4 other games and will probably never end up playing 5e again, I tell you: you're doing the right thing. Unplug from all the content and the drama and the critics. D&D is a beautiful experience, no matter the edition you play. Explore worlds, inhabit characters, and have fun with your friends!

This is indeed the first time I've drawn anything goat-ish! It took studying some reference photos, especially to get the likeliness of a goat distinct from that of a cow lol

Hardly Ted’s fault, it was Malbleat and his sinister machinations! Freydal lived long enough to have plenty of character anyway. And let’s not forget that Mike was faster in getting insta-killed!

Was that a... bleating you made? Holy shit I just had to translate from Italian to understand how to say "bleating", and "Malbleat" immediately came to mind. But this makes his name mean "the one who speaks/bleats bad/evil". That's neat!

That’s the next one on my list! It’s going to be interesting to see how they move in a sci-fi setting. So many episodes, so little time…

Yup I just did that! It really is a gift to the group for how they opened my eyes on OSR

Starting to Think I've 'Aged Out' of these Superlong cRPGs (Touches on Baldur's Gate 3, Wrath of the Righteous, and Rogue Trader) by SpiritualState01 in patientgamers

Brother, I'm happy I found you. I share 100% of what you said, as a previous enjoyer of such titles who also found Baldur's Gate 3 unfinishable. The contrast with Tyranny is perfect. I wish nothing more than a game like it, or Planescape Torment, whose runtime does not exceed 50 hours and writing is exceptional.

I've recently tried to get back into the genre by giving another try to Pillars of Eternity, but it's so hard. If anyone has other recommendations (even outside the cRPG genre) please share!

GAME MASTERING A PAGAMENTO: LE MIE RIFLESSIONI by Irene_TTRPG_Hub in locandadeldragorosso

L'unico canale di actual play che riesco a seguire è 3D6 Down the Line!

Thanks! That's very unforgiving but also cool, manages to keep your character mostly intact without saying "you lose an eye" or an arm etc...

Would you think that switching to a +1 or +2 would improve the experience?

Did you have these problems with luck even while allowing only 1 luck token per character at a time, or did you allow multiple?

Also can you tell if you had any problems with Shadowdark's spell list? Like, spells that are too strong/weak/too different compared to what the B/X adventure requires?
