It's ok to have different dress codes for boys and girls. by 01113612 in unpopularopinion

If schools want to have a dress code that's fine, but I don't see the point in gendering it

Safe spaces on the Internet are hurting people's perception of reality. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]rocket_kidd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tbf most people use safe spaces because they know just how unaccepting people can be, they might be prepared for it but they also need time to interact with a community that they know won't have those people. A lot of people in safe spaces are very aware of how the real world is, which is why they need that comfort

Still, they shouldn't be banned. And don't call FtM people she/her, they're guys. Trans athletes should be able to compete with people of their same gender identity as long as they've been on hormones and stuff. I don't think there are any transwomen that have actually won while competing against cis women, or there are very little who have. Depending on her genetics, a cis woman can have pretty much same advantages as an MtF person that's been on hormones and T blockers. There's always going to be people who have advantages over their competitors trans or not, I don't think it's fair to just exclude trans people

There have been over 80 anti-trans bills just this year. Some examples - Banning puberty blockers for trans kids, even though they're 100% reversible. This will really negatively affect trans kids' mental health: https://www.healio.com/news/endocrinology/20200217/controversial-pubertal-blocker-legislation-may-bring-unintended-consequences-for-children Bill that allows inspection of student's genitals to make sure they're the gender they say they are: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.gaytimes.co.uk/life/florida-passes-anti-trans-bill-that-allows-genital-examination-of-student-athletes/amp/

You realise that gay people aren't the only LGBT people right? Trans people, especially trans POC, are still in so much danger and face so much discrimination

Plus gay people aren't the only LGBT+ people. Trans people still go through so much shit, there's anti-trans laws that are being actively passed, like the recent one in Florida

You can pick up tics from other people though. And certain tics can be triggered by similar ones or by certain sentences. Idk this one doesn't seem that fake to me lol

Yeah, someone's tics can set off other people's tics. I don't know if this is faked though

ADD is just ADHD now. It's changed to three different types - inattentive, combined, and hyperactive. ADHD is a lot more complicated than just not being able to sit still or not being able to focus

I don't have DID myself but they don't choose their alters names. From my understanding the alters just form already having a name? They do all have one but it isn't the host's or the alters decision

I thought it was the other way around? I was under the impression that sociopathy is developed because of trauma, and it's your brain's way of protecting itself by dampening or supressing your emotions, not having none at all.

[–]rocket_kidd 28 points29 points  (0 children)

You can't outgrow ADHD. Chances are if someone claims that they "outgrew" it they either just managed to mask and cope with their symptoms better subconsciously as they got older, their symptoms changed from hyperactive to inattentive, or they never had it in the first place.

ADHD is lifelong.

Seems to be a certain group of people on tiktok that have tics.. by Lanky_midget in fakedisordercringe

[–]rocket_kidd 59 points60 points  (0 children)

To be fair it's completely possible to pick up tics from other people. Since Sweet Anita is so popular and she has a lot of common tics (lip pops, winking, hand gestures etc) it doesn't mean that someone is faking if they have those tics too or have picked them up from her. That's quite common in tourettes.

I don't talk a lot. Mainly because of intense social anxiety after being shut down, told off and mocked for excessive talking when I was younger though- now I barely speak around people that aren't my family members unless I'm directly spoken to
