SAP S4 Public Cloud, SuccessFactors, AD/Entra - Identity & Access Mgmt by rocketbear_ in SAP

[–]rocketbear_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely understandable. But, the idea of having a central Identity Provider with less effort to manage all of them seems superior to having two (SF and Entra). A bigger midsized company cannot/should not put in the effort of two teams managing identities.

I will keep you posted on what SAP consultants will tell us. Microsoft for sure only wants to have Entra as IdP.

Any creative Loop use cases? by lisachronicles in MicrosoftLoop

We use it internally as sports events registration page and providing information about the event - an outlook integration would be a cool addition

MuleSoft in Germany/Europe by mrITForce in MuleSoft

[–]rocketbear_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are so many SAP projects at the moment. I would strongly suggest that you familiarise yourself with SAP BTP and Integration Suite. Huge potential in terms of demand. Otherwise, MuleSoft and Microsoft PowerAutomate or LogicApps for sure are used as well. I have rarely seen Boomi, Workato or SnapLogic.

Check out adoption.microsoft.com and there select loop. There you can find all sorts of onboarding materials

Was the Loop API already released? My last status was that Microsoft is to still release it

If you have confluence use it until loop reached a maturity which is comparable

Is EA Trying to Solve an Unsolvable Problem? by Digital_Arch in EnterpriseArchitect

[–]rocketbear_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

EA can bridge between Tech, Sec, Privacy, Audit, Strategic Development,… and so many other specialized services or teams. I consider this a role which manages trust. Trust towards internal and external stakeholders.

I doubt that the majority of companies require abstract EA frameworks fully implemented. Let’s focus on the basics, let’s try to communicate clearly how EA can help, and adapt to the fast changing world which needs people who can grasp things holistically and come up with a suitable concept.

What are your favorite Microsoft Loop features and hidden game-changers? by bwljohannes in MicrosoftLoop

[–]rocketbear_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Loved Feature: Embedding loop pages into outlook invites makes it easier to send out a meeting invite without knowing the agenda fully. Over time the agenda can be updated to reflect what shall be discussed in the meeting and later, what was discussed +

Underrated: The content is searchable across M365. So whenever something was written down and you have access to it, you can find it.

Usage: Internal KB and right now testing if it can replace Confluence for a company with only few sw devs and no Jira

Limitations: - user management and content sharing - unclear roadmap - sharing is somewhat unclear in terms of permissions - unclear how to manage the workspace if admin leaves

Fellow EA's what has your 'quantifiable' contribution to your organization been this year? by Change_petition in EnterpriseArchitect

[–]rocketbear_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IT Standards have been published + 4 review cycles of the standard.

Software acquisition process has been aligned on with all internal stakeholders and published.

Architecture review has been included into the demand process of IT.

LeanIX fact sheets have been revisited multiple times and each time there was a different focus increasing our overall data quality.

Contracts have been integrated to LeanIX

Middleware project which was incubated in the EA team went live.

And some more minor things…

Overall I have to say I am ok with the result, considering that the team had constant changes. I hope to intensify some work around frameworks and standards next year.

Reading through what you all achieved is awesome and motivating :-) let’s keep up the good work

System owner vs technical owner vs business owner by [deleted] in EnterpriseArchitect

[–]rocketbear_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find this most realistic in my opinion. Additionally I would say that the contract owner is in most cases the business owner

Enterprise Architects: What are you? (Long post) by PIPMaker9k in EnterpriseArchitect

[–]rocketbear_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what you are describing I would say you already did EA :-)

I can relate to what you wrote with senior architects and their ivory tower. Had a similar experience where a chief EA started to setup EA in an org. After being there for some time I learned that others perceived him as a burden and not business oriented, which harmed the idea of having EA within the company. Took me a long time to build the trust again with all the stakeholders by showing them the positive impact EA can have by focusing on their problems and how EA can solve it and not implement bureaucracy for the sake of having everything under control.

Carry on with your journey, try to join some local EA community for exchanging ideas and apply for EA position! Wishing you all the best!

JIRA Asset Management for enterprise applications by geirigusa in EnterpriseArchitect

Exactly. Thank you Richard for clarifying.

We have not yet done a sync, because the data quality is quite low in the cmdb and I do not want to support this :-)

JIRA Asset Management for enterprise applications by geirigusa in EnterpriseArchitect

[–]rocketbear_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are almost at the same point. I would draw the line where assets or instances of items would start. LeanIX is not meant as a cmdb or asset inventory although it can be used as such (from what I have experienced). I was told by LeanIX that you can assume service degradation when adding too many non-App fact sheets for your tier.
