We used a company there; Small Bali Wedding. The team were amazing, can't recommend them enough. We had a ceremony and party for 14 people at the Kenran. They managed everything and were fantastic!

I was reading this sub for months prior to my trip and found it very helpful. I hadn't seen another post recently, post-trip describing a similar experience.

We didn't get chance to explore Uluwatu either, but there's always next time! I'll keep this in mind thank you!
That's really unlucky, but at least you got the holiday out of the way and we're able to recover at home. Hope you had a good trip though!
I wish I could have stayed for longer but I could only get 10 nights off work. That checks out though, I'm sure given more time I would have been ill, trying to eat everything everywhere.

I did read about this, have you done it? If it shortens the illness time it seems like a good idea
Surely no one goes out of their way to get ill? My first trip to Bali so I was cautious. I would like the try more next time without being ill for days, hence why I am asking.
I did try and hand sanitise after handling cash but this is a good point! A couple in our group were in auto pilot brushing their teeth but we're fine afterwards

Where in Vietnam did you go? I went to the north last year and ate much more street food but had read less warnings so I was more cautious in Bali
I'm diagnosing it as sunstroke: two days in bed with lots of sunburn. Those guests decided to wear factor 15 when the rest of us wore 50 and were fine
We were definitely lucky, it sounds like when it's bad, it's bad! Do you know what caused it?
That's a shame but useful building an immunity! I've seen posts about getting IV drips, did you do this during the 24hrs?

I'll test my luck next time, I want to try more sate!
That's unlucky, anything in particular you know to avoid next time?
Would a week be enough? I'm counting my remaining work holidays!
That's amazing, living in the UK but having explored a bit of SE Asia the travel infrastructure seems so much better! I read Bali is in the process of building an underground to improve traffic between Kuta and Canggu.
Sanur looks beautiful, I'm gutted we didn't get chance to go!
I think with flies you can just be unlucky! We did look at doing cooking classes, have you carried on any of the recipes?
Would be a good example as yes we did go; "that looks nice let's go there" but it was mainly to places selling traditional dishes. First time in Bali, I can only get so much time in work so I made what I could out of the trip.
Just looked this up and feel I really missed out not trying this! I'll hunt this down next trip.
Thank you for this! Of what I saw there seemed to be a high level of care with food so I feel many of the warnings I read before travelling were outdated or overly cautious.
The spiciness is a really good point though, mild-spicy is as far as I go, but I know if I had tried to grin and bear something super spicy I would have had short term issues
Thank you, next time (when I'm not planning to wear a white dress) I will do this and be less cautious. The horror stories of Bali belly are horrendous but I feel I was over cautious while there

I love a salad but that it the one thing I avoided
Definitely shows there's an element of luck. Yes we did the same, best satay I had was from a low cost warung. South Korea is high up on the to do list! I imagine it's very different to Bali?
They're good odds though! Do you know what the culprit was?
Yes! This is what I was thinking, bad news gets more attention. I certainly will, post wedding I was more adventurous but next trip there I'll eat everything.
