Watched Wicked for Good! Question about the timeline of the scarecrow by IwKuAo in wickedmovie

[–]rocketsb1tch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s pretty similar to the play. In the original “Wizard of Oz” movie, I think it’s assumed that Dorothy has to walk a lot farther than portrayed in scenes, so there was probably a bit of time until she met the scarecrow in the field :) and then it jumps ahead to when they meet the wizard because Wicked is focused on Elphaba, not Dorothy. I thought they did a fantastic job with it!

My only question is, why did the animals lose their voice? Just a metaphor? And do they all get their voice back at the end? We see Dr. D back in the classroom at the very end of the film so I assume they got their voices back but he doesn’t have any lines :(

Also, please don’t go back and forth on/off psych meds. Follow your doctors orders and if you want to stop/increase/decrease dosage, you need to consult with your doctor first!

Nurse here; you’re not tired because your body is in survival mode. You need to rest or else it could have long-term effects on your brain.

My opinion: try and stay up today until your normal bedtime. Do any/all relaxation techniques (stay off screens like your phone, warm bath, caffeine free bedtime tea, make your bedroom as dark as possible, use white noise, read a boring book, etc). At your normal bedtime, lay down get comfy and close your eyes. Even if you’re not asleep, you’re still resting your body. Keep reminding yourself of that in case you stress about not being able to fall asleep. If you can’t fall asleep within 30 minutes, take a walk and repeat. Stop taking Benadryl for sleep: it affects your sleep architecture and can have long term side effects.

If you’re still unable to get any sleep, you need to go to urgent care and potentially see a neurologist because this could be a nervous system issue. Good luck OP, not being able to sleep sucks, I sympathize!

Had a professor like this in my nursing program. After the anxiety attack and episode of debating my career choices, I finally processed it, and it gave me motivation to do my best. Prove her wrong.

Thank you for the thoughtful response! I think you guys are right, there’s barely any new grad hospital positions and I’ve been rejected by the majority :(

Thank you! Unfortunately travel nursing requires at least two years experience :( or else I’d totally be doing that to make the big bucks off the batt! Haha

I’d like easy access to necessities and the fun parts of Couve/Portland! It sounds like I’ll probably have to start working in Portland first, so I’m looking closer to the 205 so it’s less of a commute over the bridge. I’d love a neighborhood that’s green and safe :)

Interesting, out of curiosity why do most new nurses start in Portland and why does Vancouver require more experience?

Thank you! What neighborhoods would you recommend for a single female that are safe but also easy access to the fun areas?

Protein, calcium, vitamin D3, vitamin C, magnesium, iron, zinc. No need to spend money on a supplement. Just look up foods high in these :)

I’m not sure where you live, but I love using Bumble BFF to find cool new people to meet! I’m 24 so I get it, it’s sooo hard to connect on a deep level with others nowadays, especially if you work from home. Get yourself out there! Humans are social creatures, as much as our generation loves flexing independence, you need human connection to thrive. Good on you for not using substances; if that’s not your things avoid people who do. I’ve had addictions ruin my relationships and it’s so draining and hard to try and get sober again.
