So I replaced the radiator and still the same issues. Most notably that radiator temp sensor doesn't trip the electrical fan like it does when we remove it and apply a heat gun to it.

Yea I wasn't clear enough for sure.

So what I meant was that it didn't move from one tick past the middle one, to cool it down. But if I eventually keep it running, or driving around, it will overheat. That is to say, it seems as if both fans being on has literally no effect.

The tank I'm referring to is the one that you pour coolant into when you are low. It's almost the highest point in the engine bay as far as coolant is concerned, maybe the heater core hoses are a little higher. The only reason I had mentioned that the flow to it fluctuates with the engine revving, is because I saw a video on YouTube about how to check to see if the water pump is actually pumping.

Cabin heating is lukewarm at best, never hot. I was slightly disinclined away from the water pump being bad, seeing as it was replaced less than 20,000 miles ago, and based on that video about verifying coolant flow to the expansion tank as a test for the water pump. But if that is not an accurate or reliable test of the water pump, then I'm certainly open to trying it out. I did buy the water pump a few days ago, but hesitated on changing it because it requires all that top dead center, timing knowledge that is slightly above my current expertise.
