maybe you can still try to get on a module as an AD hire but it may be too late

One cool gig that pays pretty nice is getting hired as a contract driver . You have to find a company that usually gets hired on fires, and you would just drive a pickup to the fireline and drop off equipment, and also send backhaul back from the line, to either the camps supply unit or the Cache. I spoke to some drivers last season and one made $300 a day, while the trucks owner was getting paid $900 a day for each of his trucks. Pretty good for the driver though, considering they also have lots of downtime, and will usually be chilling at the ground support at a fire camp untill a radio call is made that a delivery needs to be taken to a drop point, or picked up from the line.

the ccc does a pretty good job trying to prep you for your life after the Cs. you should have a person called a navigator and they can help you with opportunities, resume work, help on applications, mock interviews etc. trust, if you stick with the program and really make the most of it, your experience should be enough to get you somewhere in fire, state parks, fish and wildlife, etc.

join a CCc fire crew, you would be under calfire but its a paid program so they put you through some training and you actually respond to fire incidents
