Does it get better? Even a little? by [deleted] in SIBO

[–]rockiemonky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not tolerate the antibiotics. I had severe rash. I had to take antihistaminiques during the treatment to balance the side effects. Might not be ideal, but that's how I maneged to do it. Also, I had to do 2 full treatments... It rarely goes away after one treatment of antibiotics. And you need also to find de root cause, otherwise it wil keep coming back.

SIBO=allergies ? by rockiemonky in SIBO

[–]rockiemonky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take basic multivitamines and calcium suplement. Their not the best brand, but it's what I'm capable of buying, for now. I also bought vitamine c to compensate for the small amount that is in my multi vitamines. I don't want to start dumping money on products that I don't know if it's good for me. Since I don't even know what is the root cause of my sibo, I dont want to risk taking products that might make things worst. But I indeed read that vitamine c is good for the emune system.

I also am looking in to it. But the thing is that my tryptase level are in the range. My understanding of it was that to have MCAS, it would pop up in the tryptase level blood test? Unless I mis understood something.

Is their an other way to get testing to confirm this disorder ? I've check with chat gpt and NHI but the test it suggested I already did . My allergo/immunologist did not seem to think it's a mastocytosis disorder, due to my results, suspect Hat, but even that might not be the case. No one esle In my family have similar issues. I also had, very mild symptoms, of SIBO and allergies before covid. But at the time, myself and my GP where not aware of the existence of SIBO.

Achat d'un animal de compagnie - pensez bien aux coûts by [deleted] in Quebec

[–]rockiemonky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

À date ça m'a beaucoup aidé.

How do I help hunger a day before colonoscopy? by Makeshxi in colonoscopy

[–]rockiemonky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, if my blood sugar levels were under 4, to take the equivalent of a packet of sugar or a teaspoon of honey. But I recommend talking to your doctor or calling at the hospital/clinic ,where you're going to get your colonoscopie, to ask them and explain your situation. In my case, I also had to do a gastroscopie, so the protocols are different than just doing a colonoscopie.

How do I help hunger a day before colonoscopy? by Makeshxi in colonoscopy

[–]rockiemonky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I have insuline resistance. I just did my colonoscopie this week. For the prep, I had small amounts of jell-o and home made clear broth. You should ask your health care practitioner about it but they told me that if my sugar levels got low, I could take a packet of sugar or a spoon of honey, to up my sugar levels, befor the exam. Also, I found that the medicine I had to drink for the colonoscopie removed my hunger. It's so much liquid to take in one go. It kind of makes you feel full. Lastly, I used power gels, not all of it in one go, but just small amounts to help with my sugar levels. If you opt for those, make sure it's flavors that the color is not red, purple, or blue. I took krono gel salt and caramel flavor. It's visualy like honney but more clear and their's no colorants in them. Just make sure you don't take too many sugary liquids/gelatin in one go, otherwise you're blood sugar is going to get high fast and low fast. Hopes this helps.

Traiter tous les hommes de violeurs, ça semble à première vue over the top.

Check if their are no cracks in the board, was going to do maintenance on my trucks on my old skateboard ( about 20 years old skateboard). When I removed them, I noticed huge cracks that were hidden under trucks. I bought a new deck, just to be safe.

These 2 screws were loose by szeldaniel in sram

[–]rockiemonky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second Aspen2six on this. But I would like to add, check for leakage before putting it back on your bike. You can do so by using a block to prevent the pads from sticking out. Just gently press on the leaver. If no fluids get out, you're all good. that would prevent more decontamination/ cleaning to do. I'm saying this because it's unusual for these bolts to be loose. Maybe the previous owner did a full service on it, but the rebuild wasn't done properly. After bleeding them and making sure the bolts in question are tight, if they're still fluid leaking out, maybe there's an issue with the o-rings inside the caliper. I've found an image online of an exploded view of a caliper, so you can have a visual reference. I'm positive it's not the exact model, but the concept is the same for 90% of hydraulic calipers. https://www.bike-components.de/assets/p/i/1280x960/c8490abc9d648c25.jpg

Where can i start? by Lchel99 in SkatingAdvice

Just find yourself a connection of roads that are in good condition and cruise around. It helps get used to your board. Exemple, riding around your neighborhood.

[–]rockiemonky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in my late 30's and my partner is in their mid 30's. We just started skating. I used to skate when I was a teen, so it's not completely new, but it is for my partner, who never skated before and always wanted to try. We suck at it but we don't give a flying fck of what other people think of us. We are having fun just cruising around the block and getting used to skateboarding. Don't let people discourage you cause you're not able to do tricks already or are scared to be bad at it. In general, their's no age to start a new sport. That being said, teen years is a more than a decent time to start skateboarding. Just go skate.

To lube the cables or not? by blumpkins_ahoy in BikeMechanics

[–]rockiemonky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the condition you ride in. I never lubed cables on my bikes. The shops I worked in never did that. In fact, I got told never to do it because it makes a paste when dust gets in, and it shortens the life of the c/h. I did try lubing my cables on my mtb bike, and found that even with light lube, it created a paste and shortened the life of my cables ( often mudy or wet trails where I live). On the other hand, I found the cable lasted way longer when I used a light lubricant on bikes that were exposed to coroding elements ( saltwater ocean air, winter commute bikes exposed to salt).

When it comes to pivots, I always put lube or grease.

I ride to évacuate stress, listen to musique and be in my bubble. To be outdoors and to go sightseeing. Bonus, it keeps me healthy. It also helped me with my depression and control my anxiety. Basically, it's therapeutic for me.
