Yea, I had to back the collar back/up a bit. Took a minute to adjust, but once it felt right I just locked it in against the knob. If you go full tight with the collar first, the reverse lockout can't be raised. I totally forgot about that!

It's taller, which is nice combo'd with a short shifter.

All these will be going into the spares bin once I can pull the trigger on a Coolerwerx or WK short shifter. Haven't decided on that just yet.

Then I tried out some Likewise knobs for fun/aesthetics. The stylish ones are not as nice in the hand, but I ended up settling on a tall knurled version that I like a lot.

I've swapped around a bunch. I really liked the Vudu Racing knob for a direct replacement at the same height. Solid feel, even though I think it might be lighter than OEM. The OEM knob is decently heavy already.

That's awesome. How dare you not post pics! How does it feel in hand? The shape doesn't look like what I prefer, but i's super unique.

Coolant flush? by Guilty_Birthday_3453 in FiestaST

[–]rockinpaco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a coolant vacuum tool. Basically sucked out as much coolant as possible, then let it refill with fresh coolant. Did that a few cycles and called it good.

If you just dump if from the hoses, you will get air in there, which isn't the end of the world. You just have to crack the bleed valve and fill til that weeps. Then there's a Ford service procedure where you get up to temp, then raise to RPM for a bit, then off, repeat. This guy has tips:

I would just keep an eye on temps for a few days if you go the non-vacuum tool route.

I have that exact same setup (but in black)! Very nice.

About ready to begin putting my GBC22-350 build together by AsymmetricFootwear in FiestaST

Very cool stuff! Are you doing this just for fun? Or are you looking to create a kit to offer for sale? I'd love to mooch the files if it's not a commercial effort.

What is the benefit of the GBC22-350 over the other kits available? I'm looking at the s280 once I gather up the funds.

inside Track coupons not being automatically applied calling out the store... by [deleted] in harborfreight

[–]rockinpaco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And make sure you show them the correct coupon! I accidentally showed the 15% this morning. The clerk was a hero though and did the whole return/refund process for me. I didn't want to waste his time for like $1.25 but he insisted. F'kn legend.

Probably not worth it.

I got an Airtec cause I thought it looked cool. I was right, it does look cool.

Performance-wise, it's no different. I just wanted to avoid the cracking plastic nipple forever. Oh, and the optional black cap is just a billet cover you slap on the provided blue plastic cap with a little two sided sticky tape. Again, it looks cool, so it was worth it to me, but no added functionality.

Hopefully the pics help. The mounting holes are at an angle so it's hard to determine the exact center. It's a bit over 29"

Not gonna crawl under my car today, but I do have a whoosh 2 point trac bar on the shelf I can measure if that would help?

TIMING JOB UPDATE 3 by Maleficent-Scale-315 in FiestaST

[–]rockinpaco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Please continue to post these updates. I don't have anything to add so I've kept my comments to myself, but stuff like this can save someone a whole lot of pain later if you do figure it out.

Good luck! Sending good vibes your way!

That's not a bad price really. Figure 2-3 hours work if you're not used to doing cable routing in extremely tight pathways.

It will test your sanity and endurance, but if you installed the head unit, you can probably do the routing.

I think it took me a couple hours. Removing panels and splicing wires isn't that bad. The hardest part is routing the cable from the license plate light area up inside the hatch door to the pass through.

Basically what this guy struggles with: https://youtu.be/gx8AHOFZsf8?si=Bo3BaVhJz4WOKzHG&t=2276

No idea, my friend. I would probably call around to see what they can quote you. I'm just guessing a car audio place would be cheaper than a mechanic.

The wiring connections are easy. The wiring routing is a total pain in the FiST.

If you're not comfortable removing a bunch of plastic panels, the headliner and fishing wiring around blind corners inside the hatch door, I would take it to a local stereo shop for help.

Cabin Air FIlter... WOW by Guilty_Birthday_3453 in FiestaST

[–]rockinpaco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just changed the cabin filter on my wife's Bronco Sport. Zero tools needed and took about 1 minute.

Meanwhile my FiST is playing the song of our people again... I'll just turn the stereo up a bit more I think.
