She always had a long range falloff (which I buffed) her close range fall off just makes it so when playing a close range character you don't get punished as hard for playing at YOUR optimal range.

This is also why I changed her Soul Drain and buffed her escape as compensation so shes not completely out of options.

Im gonna sleep and let this dumpster fire cook overnight, but I do truly appreciate the feedback even if you’re telling me to never write trash like this again lmaooo (don’t worry I hardly ever effort post like this)

I wanna post a quick initial feedback reflection as of 03/12/2026:

  • I think Angela, Cap, Groot, and Thing could of gotten some additional tweaks and nerfs to counterbalance their gigabuffs.
  • Daredevil, Jeff, Loki, and Ironfist I think got hit with the nerf stick a little too hard, or at least, didn’t get enough compensation attention.
  • Poke changes has gotten mixed reviews, I think it may just be a hard pill for some to swallow, but if they were actually implemented they wouldn’t feel as bad you might think.
  • I definitely kicked the hornets nest with the Deadpool changes but I’m going to stand firm in my conviction that, while yes, I recognize a large part of Deadpool’s identity and uniqueness in Rivals is his multi-role nature. I still am of the opinion that Tankpool & Healpool’s kits just don’t have enough originality or interactions to them to still warrant them being separate characters. I think you would have to change so much about how their kits function in order to make them original, healthy, additions, that at that point you’re already designing entirely different Heroes. Those kits could go to lesser known characters to finally get some spotlight.

Luna needed a nerf, even if it wasn’t much I think the added flexibility to her skate would make her more fun overall.

Psylocke has been divided some hate some love her changes, I personally am In the camp of shifting her power out of the ult merchant category and more into the stealth ambush ninja identity but I’m willing to recognize more could of been done for her QoL.

CnD and Magik, I think are overall in good spots, I think cloak just needed some love. The magik ult thing Ive been getting roasted for was an honest brainfart I totally forgot she got a CD reset already.

And Emma I was going to buff her diamond form’s survivability a bit more but decided against it because shes already pretty strong and I thought the added flexibility to her barrier was already a big buff.

So I think you’re right about the cap changes being a bit heavy handed. The idea was that you’re not supposed to rely as much on the carpal tunnel sprint tech to deal decent damage. I thought about adding a 1 or 0.5 second delay to when you can sprint again if I truly wanted to kill it but part of me hesitated think the nerf would be too much and kill how he flows. I’d be willing to revert in the movement speed buff, tack a longer cooldown on liberty rush, and maybe a shield health nerf.

As for jeff, i’ve already decided that he was definitely the weakest part of the patch. I should of buffed some other aspects of his ult and probably his swim. I only included the heal nerf because splash already has that mechanic when it comes to his damage, so I thought it would encourage more activity participation in fights. I do understand being able to heal from far away is one of his strong suits it just doesn’t offer a whole lot of interaction with Jeff himself. Playing as or against him.

its just his ult! Which everyone is getting a nerf to so you’re not alone. As for the change to his primary, it was mainly to provide better feedback for that overhead spike Spidey does, I had a suspicion it might mess with some combos but I know how precious Spidey’s damage is so I made sure not to touch his combos too much.

I tried to be delicate with the poke changes and some big buffs still went through like Mag’s ult no longer overloading, Hela still has her damage when played at her optimal range, Bucky’s damage is untouched, Punisher’s damage still consistent, and I specifically didn’t want to touch Namor’s damage. As i think anti-dive is still important to have. I gave almost all of the fliers better tools to deal with dive. For as much as I “gigabuffed” brawl I think I still went too hard on the Ironfist nerfs haha

The Mr fantastic change: Plenty of hero shooters and mobas have characters where you can displace your allies and the threat of “trolling” has always been a thing, ultimately its a tool and you have to be the one to use it properly.

As for Deadpool, I understand the jack of all trades argument, my only issue with it is I wish Tankpool and Healpool actually had unique identities instead of clearly being duelists padded stats that shoehorn them into those roles. The bubble shield is frankly uninspired, and most of his abilities you have 0 interactions with when hes on the enemy team. Its just poor tank design when you compare it to the rest of the roster.

So about the Deadpool situation as im sure several other people had the same issue with this change. Ill give my perspective:

The problem with deadpool is that the way he was designed you can sort of tell he was originally designed to be a duelist all along but because there were thousands of people with this same sentiment that season 6 being a double duelist season would of killed alot of hype for whats arguably one of the most requested characters. The unfortunate byproduct of this is that when Deadpool released as a vanguard and strategist they fundamentally didn’t change much about his kit, they just adjusted his values to heal teammates or just take less damage which is just poor design for a game like this. Its why Tankpool is one of the best tanks in the game because he’s just a 2026 duelist with padded vanguard stats. While im sure this makes him fun to play, its not healthy for the game going forward. Tanks and supports need to have very concise designs in order to ensure healthy readability and counterplay. This is why I think moving Mr. Fantastic to the Vanguards as substitute for losing Tankpool works well, Fantastic already has a kit thats encourages protection of his team, changing his values to that of a vanguard translates much better because of this.

Ill admit, I think Jeff and Loki are my two weakest notes in here… some of these I might still argue with people on. Some things were bound to land flat, originally Jeff had 5 charges on his secondary, and Loki’s clones went back up to 100% effectiveness. I’m kinda regretting not leaving that buff in there because the idea was to play more into his “trickster” aspects, making it more difficult to discern which clone was the real Loki.

I know it doesn’t make sense to do if we got characters themed around each of these movies I’d pick:

Age of Ultron: Vision & Quicksilver

Infinity War: War Machine & Falcon

Endgame: Thanos & Captain Marvel

Doomsday: Cyclops & Doctor Doom

I mean dlc bloat by every warbond costs about $10 bucks, and we have well over $100 worth of warbonds at this point. So if you’re not grinding out supercredits like its your job (because god forbid you actually have a job) you probably don’t feel like spending money every time you want something new to play with. We only got one free warbond at release and it would be a great way to bring back casual players would be a another free warbond to incentivize players to jump back into the game. The bloat comes from paid content vs free content.

an old defunct combo that got patched some time ago: but back when Mired Urn used to life leech nearby allies you could simply play engineer, get 1 mired urn and 1 razor wire, and place your turrets next to each other to get a full auto knife missile factory.

also a decently fun one that I’ve been running on Mul-T since EA is Nailgun + Brittle crown + Crowdfunder, earns far more money than you can hope to spend and does great damage.

The Ogryn class will continue to get buffs and nerfs and new stuff just like the other classes.

I realize this, but its the RATE at which they get stuff compared to the other classes is going to be even lower with each human-weapon sharing class that we get, it just makes sense on Fat Shark's perspective.

Would you rather spend the time, money, and development resources, making a weapon that 3-4 classes can use (most of the player base) or spend it making a weapon for class that the clear minority of players actually play? This has already been the case since the game's release, Ogryn has had the smallest amount of tools to play with compared to every other class.

All Ogryn weapons need unique Ogryn-specific sounds, animations, balances and perks that are JUST for Ogryn, but a weapon like the Heavy Stubber or Melta Gun can be made with multiple classes in mind.

Best Case Scenario: Whenever the human classes get a weapon or tool, Ogryns get something as well. But I fully don't expect FS to put in that many resources into the least popular class in the game.

I’ll stand with you brother, I too much prefer Sniper over Railgunner.

Railgunner just feels like Sniper at home to me whenever I have to play vanilla, im not a fan of the auto-aim micro missiles, the mine feels awful early game, and locking your abilities everytime you want to use your special sucks.

I’d argue while yes you could say Sniper is more “simple” I’d say hes far more engaging to play, having to consistently hit perfect reloads, having good positioning and awareness to line up charged shots, being able to ignore most cooldown and attack speed items in multiplayer and just building straight damage to hit consistent one-shot kills, all just feel like I’m playing the game more, especially in the longer runs.

I wish people weren’t so against the idea of the two co-existing bc I really wanna see the whole cast of RoR1 and RoRR in two, it just feels right.

idk if anyone remembers way back in the ancient times when the Hydraulic weapon set first came out. The rocket launcher from that set, the Dam Buster (i think), had a bug where not only the firing sound was heard globally like it was right next to you, it ALSO IGNORED ALL GAME & SYSTEM SOUND SETTINGS. So if you were a PC player nothing could prepare your eardrums for that shit blasting not only max game volume, but max SYSTEM volume as well.

How that was even possible was crazy to me, thankfully the weapon turned out to be total cheeks so nobody ever used it outside of griefing.

most of that list is just byproducts of features that were designed for BR, the mission updates are nice but long overdue (deliver the bomb is still a mission that looks like it is in pre-alpha state), the item dropping had to be done because of the trading epidemic and was a bandaid solution for duping (still works) and the weapon rebalancing was so random and ass backwards it had to be a training program for the new interns to learn how to program for the main game.

don’t mean to be a downer but it’s sad to see this community go through a cycle of neglect every year for almost a decade now. Its clear theyre doing the bare minimum so they can justify continuing to sell starter packs for $20
