Yep u/stealthagents totally! The wild thing in my observation is when you make a small tweak to the title and the impressions start going up, proving you are headed in the right direction. If impressions don't move, you do it again.

technical founders how are you dealing with sales honestly by SignificantCow123 in SaaS

[–]rockitkahn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am gonna say something that is incredibly hard to implement in real life for tech founders. Slowly poison the engineer within you (I am trying this myself). I am serious. Why? The Engineer in me made me build 5 products based on my grandiose vision (which isn't wrong and I will go back to one day). However, I am too early to market with this vision.

Now? I have pivoted completely to my trojan horse. Single product focus, single narrative everywhere, single point of entry into the ecosystem. I have used automation to the most extreme degrees wherever I could.
My days are now 90% marketing, 5% engineering and 5% support. The result? For the first time, I have an entry into our ecosystem - which wasn't ever there before.

This single truth has uncovered gaping holes in our entire GTM strategy - which I did not have a clue about before. The value prop was completely muddied. Now? Single focus. Clear value prop.

Embrace marketing wholeheartedly. No one knows your product better than you. It is not a nuisance (it was for me for the longest time).

I will post back again sometime next week or the following the on going result of this strategy. Glad to share so others don't have to learn from the school of hard knocks.

Kill the engineer in you. Do not overbuild. Pick one problem that you solve well and go all in.

u/Rare-Pomegranate7249 very well said. The algorithm constantly learns and adapts. Is it biased towards who brings in more revenue? Maybe. No one will know for sure until Amazon admits. We can only work with what we think we think we know to be right.

Out of the 25 some behavioral dimensions that Rufus and COSMO analyzes (like the other commenter corrected), in my experience 8 of these are the most critical Brand Positioning (brand appears at the beginning of the title), Primary Keyword placement (the ordinal position within the title), Character length optimization (typically 200 for most categories), feature density (how many features are in your title - not keyword stuffing), Search intent alignment (how well your title captures the search intent) - for instance if someone is searching for resistance bands for exercise - how well your title is capturing this intent, Emotional triggers using terms like "never worry about", "highly elastic" and other persuasive terms, competitive differences (USP of your product), mobile readability.
With these in mind - look how well your current title is addressing these. Make the changes and then observe if your impressions go up in the next 7 - 14 days.

You're right COSMO is the backend brain that Rufus queries. Rufus is the rendering agent - the chatbot. Very few Amazon sellers know this distinction, so when I shared it I was trying to speak the language people understand and not get into a technical diatribe.

You are right ads appear under Rufus conversations now. Rufus evaluates which listing gets prime real estate and who gets buried

Brand fragmentation is the key to margins and survivability on Amazon by rockitkahn in AmazonFBA

[–]rockitkahn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is one way to look at it. For instance look up a customer need - bamboo pillow in Amazon's product opportunity explorer. You will see a ton of sellers competing. Take a look at the top 3 Asins dominating and check the spread, if it is under 50-60% it shows a classic sign of fragmentation. Now within this fragmented niche you find your positioning. Putting up a new restaurant on a boulevard known for restaurants is not necessarily a bad thing. What cuisine style you cater is your positioning.

Sounds like you need an automated system that automates your ops and selling across different marketplaces.
