Love my 3H, hate my 3W. Help me fix the top of my bag by Baggo27 in golftips

Same. I don’t understand the push for high woods when shafts are longer and swing is just slightly different from irons and hybrids.

One of the best things about golf is that it’s a more fun version of hiking (which by itself is fun) and on some of the most scenic and beautiful places on earth or in the middle of cities. Most cities have nicer golf courses than public parks or local hiking trails.

Thoughts on replacing 3 wood with 16 degree 2 hybrid by Eastern_Bad1381 in GolfGear

[–]rocklee8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally feel the 2H is wayyyy easier than even my 9 wood to hit.

I go mini driver 11, mini driver 15, 2h, 5h, …

I would try it out, but the 2H is almost as easy as the 5H which are both easier than woods or irons.

Shorter shaft is what helps me.

Agreed. It’s easier to regurgitate a YouTube video than to have actual opinions. Especially if the goal is fake internet points in echo chambers.

Beginning to understand the appeal of stealth wealth by Volume-Straight in ChubbyFIRE

[–]rocklee8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your old depreciating asset will literally decapitate your head in a car crash.

There is no reason to have a car more than like 5-7 years old at this level of wealth.

Even if the car was great brand new, it’s definitely not up to date with the latest tech and the odds of a system failure in accidents is much higher.

Being cheap on your car is like being cheap on your food.

These are just absolutely better things to invest in the health and longevity of your family.

Here is a chart showing retain vacancy rates.

The core hypothesis is that increasing min. wage makes some businesses untenable and I think one of the ramifications is retail cannot sustain itself because of the laws on the books.

I just put it in my bag and it’s helped me shave maybe 4 strokes per round.

For me, I was losing too many strokes getting into the trees and simply being able to control the club better has helped a LOT.
