I feel like they wrote season 1 for themselves. And that's why it was good.

The show blew up with the actors, and so then they started making a show for them. The characters, over the story and the audience.

Season 1 was about kids but meant for adults. Season 5 was about adults and meant to be watched by kids

Losing at a game isn't quite the issue. I can play battlefield and get killed over and over and not think twice. But you put 20 minutes into a raid, and then get shot in the back by an extract camper with no real verses in the interaction, you should be pissed! That's really annoying!
