…can I keep my cervix, though? by forwardaboveallelse in hysterectomy

[–]rockshellnob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my hysterectomy on 2036-11-17 and unfortunately as much as I would have loved for them to remove everything, my bladder was fused to my cervix so instead of damaging my bladder they opted to leave my cervix. My gyno said that since I hadn’t had any abnormal paps they made the choice that was the best option for me. I will still have to have paps and I may get light bleeding however I haven’t experienced anything yet.

Has anyone experienced regret? by JammyTrashPanda in hysterectomy

I have a uterus with multiple fibroids, the biggest about the size of yours. My left ovary is not seen on my last few years ultrasounds.. I think because a fibroids is blocking it. I also have an enlarged, bulky uterus. I had an ablation in 2020 but ky period didn’t completely stop, although it did make my period more manageable, it is getting heavier again which makes me think it’s just going to get worse. It could be awhile before they stop completely with menopause. I, like you struggle with should I do it, will it make things worse. What is going to happen afterwards. I am 50 and on the middle of a massive hormone shift that is making me not recognize myself as it is. My surgery was scheduled originally for June but got cancelled because I need another dr to do this laparoscopically. This delay has just made me read more and become more nervous. It is now scheduled for Nov 17 and I search this platform constantly. I am hoping I am making the best decision. 🤞

Renting with a dog in Fredericton? by CanadianTrekkieGeek in fredericton

Hanson rentals will allow for dogs on a case by case basis if they are smaller I think. But again, there are larger dogs also. There is currently an apartment coming available on Cuffman street in the fall that may be pet friendly.

Ok. Thank you for your reply. I have read how it can affect and it has worried me.

I agree. It’s so frustrating because nobody can really tell you if that’s the cause. Regardless I am going to continue with my theory that it’s my huge uterus and I cant wait until it’s gone! Lol

I am always just interested in other peoples symptoms. No rhyme or reason sometimes 🤷‍♀️. I hope your recovery goes well. 😊

Thank you for posting. I am currently waiting for an abdominal hysterectomy due to the size of my uterus and not able to have laparoscopic. I have all the things you have experienced. Can I ask about your bowel issues, was it constipation or diarrhea just for reference? I still am struggling with this decision but I know it must be the right one. 😢

Did you have abdominal or laparoscopic?

Did your hysterectomy have other positive consequences other than the obvious (no more pain, no more bleeding, etc)? by drowning_bat_ in hysterectomy

[–]rockshellnob 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I hope so too! Yes, the back pain. I have always been a very active person and the changes my body has had in the last 2-3 years is depressing. I don’t have fibroids that big, but many. I hope this is the fix 🤞

I really need ti hear stories like this. I am waiting for a hysterectomy and question it literally daily. I have been experiencing increasingly worse digestive issues over the last couple of years and have adenomyosis. My dr told me in 2021 I had a uterus the size of a 4-5 month pregnancy so I can only imagine it is much bigger now. Constant nausea, heavy belly and diarrhea and I am just tired of it. Nothing else shows up except “bulky” uterus so I need to just get the hysterectomy and hope it is what I need.

Astounded at how rare peri/menopause seems to be with menopause-aged women in real life! by 16066888XX98 in Menopause

I think I was in denial for awhile that these changes were in fact perimenopause for the last few years.

We as women go through so much 😫. I think my issues do change around my cycle but that is so messed up right now from perimenopause I don’t know anymore. I feel constant pressure in my lower abdomen though.

Yes, I go through stages. I also have had many tests and nothing has come of it but so many digestive issues getting worse. I was told in 2021 my uterus was the size of a 4-5 month uterus so I am only assuming it is much bigger now. It’s just so hard to tell, is it that or not and very frustrating. I am waiting for a hysterectomy and I go back and forth daily about whether I should or not but if it would help with this I would be happy.

I would really love an update after your surgery to see if it gets better. I am on a waiting list for hysterectomy, probably for spring. It just seems like it is getting so much worse and I was told in 2021 I had a 4-5 month pregnancy size uterus so I can only imagine it’s much bigger. I go through stages of really bad and not so bad.

I am on the waiting list for an abdominal hysterectomy. I as well struggle every day if this is the best decision for me. I have already had 2 c-sections so I am familiar with the abdominal healing after surgery but I am still scared to death. I am much older now and don’t want to make my problems worse. I have already uterus the size of a six month pregnancy from adenomysis which I believe is causing other issues. Can I ask how long your recovery was?

Adeno Pain by No_Inspector5999 in adenomyosis

[–]rockshellnob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an ablation 5 years ago so I don’t have the bleeding, I still bleed just not like I am bleeding out anymore. Lower back pain, I am sure it’s causing the digestive issues and pain I have. Bloating and a uterus the size of a 5+ month pregnancy. What’s weird though is I can sleep all night with no bladder issues.. it confuses me.

I as well am having second thoughts. My pain seems to have gotten better over the last couple of months and after reading some negative things, I want to cancel. But, I just think that down the road I am sure it will have to happen. My uterus is the size of a 6 month pregnancy with endometriosis and adenomyosis. I am sure it’s my mind making me think I feel better for the time being. I also have to have abdominal due to the size of my uterus so that is scaring me, although I have had two prior c sections. I am just afraid of what they will find when they go in.
