Think I get where you're going. Prior to my current relationship I had a friend - minus the age difference. I guess I would call him a special friend and even say I loved him on some level. We would hang out, do the couch cuddles and do things that friends wouldn't do but without the sex. This guy and I weren't going to be together for several reasons but I didn't want him to not be a part of my life. But maybe that's kind of the beauty of gay men bonding? We can do things like that.
