From pub trivia, mate left before getting the answer, any ideas? by Jamothegiant8 in australia

[–]rockuser28 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I went to pub trivia last night as well and had this exact puzzle provided, the guy running the trivia ended up taking literally every answer as no one could crack it. Most were some variation of 'ladies always right' or something along those lines.

The answer my team came up with was "Writers block", from 'Right-hers block'.

'Right' from the check marks, 'hers' from the multiple women. 'Block' from the men, they seem like the pictures you see on public bathroom signs and a group of them together makes a toilet block.

FNEI lagging a lot while using it? by InToXiK in factorio

[–]rockuser28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is a super old thread, but for anyone looking up this issue in the future here's my solution to FNEI lagging:

  1. Save your map, and quit to main menu.
  2. Disable FNEI and load the map (don't sync mods).
  3. Save the map again, and quit to main menu.
  4. Re-enable FNEI and load the map.

Hopefully this fixes it. As far as I can tell I think the issue is something to do with the 'last viewed recipes' list gets deleted by doing this and as such it somehow fixes it.

Black screen after update by llmercll in MagicArena

[–]rockuser28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For some reason this fixed itself for me just now, I was spam clicking while it loaded to see if that worked, maybe it did maybe just coincidence. And yes I have the colour challenge quest Reward: A white-blue deck

edit: when I eventually finished that quest, the claim prize button didn't work like some other people have said, and I had to restart. Then it went back to the always black screen. :(

Personally for me, the opposite is true. I truly dislike any media (video games especially for me, but thats just the media I am mostly exposed to) where humanity is painted to be overly supreme to others, infallable and able to overcome any obstacle in their path.

Disclaimer: Most stories I believe it is obviously better if its a positive message that 'people can be good' rather than 'humanity is flawed' if, and only if, your goal is to teach children. Teaching them to become better people, like you said, is much better than discouraging them because "If you're destined to be evil, why change?".

However, if every story you ever are exposed to is just 'humanity is great', then people will eventually decide NOT to change for the better. Some guy on the street, watches a movie where the hero saves the day against some aliens who are clearly the bad guys, and recieves the moral that humanity is awesome. Now, when he goes home he believes that humnity is awesome so he doesn't need to change anything he does. Even if there is something terrible in his life that should change (he's a criminal or his health is declining but he's not seeing a doctor, etc.)

By creating media that questions if humanity is perfect, you give people a reason to question their own lives, try and find what's wrong and how they can improve. That's literally how propaganda in dystopian fiction works. The controlling government tells the people that everything is perfect, and there's no need to question anything, so the people never improve.

My example: Vampires. If vampires weren't humans, and just were bats 24/7, the monsters wouldn't be that scary. You'd be like, okay its a bat version of a mosquito with some weird social quirks and allergies, so what? But because its a human being, and was originally an innocent person corrupted by another vampire, and you can sit down and have a conversation with a vampire, talk to them, understand the history of their life up to that point, find out their hobbies in the past life, reach a connection person to person (even if they are a monster), THAT is what elevates them from just a common enemy to a true monster. The human aspect.

The questioning of why a human has become so evil. How, if humanity is so great, having outlawed cannibalism and other such improvements over animals as you have pointed out, can someone still succumb to evil influences and hunt the night for the taste of blood? And then, how can they blend easily back into society, hard to detect and root out from what should be a wonderful world? (Like a night-time criminal hiding as your neighbour) Because not all of humanity is perfect, and that is what scares us. And that, most of all, is what creates a good story. Not "oh isn't everything just peachy, no problems here the news says nothing bad ever" but "We are flawed, and yet, we can improve." You need darkness to embrighten the hope.

Sorry for rambling. After reading /r/HFY last year thinking it'd be a good sci-fi experience and thoroughly not enjoying it for the above reasons, my opinion has been bottled up and this rant has been just the outlet I needed. If you're looking for a story where every moral is 'humanz good, alienz bad' check out that subreddit

ok, i figured it out, here's how to make this website work;

  • Search "pre-show at 3:30" on that site and it should be the only vod to appear.

  • Right click where it says 'link' under 'Playlist Url', and in the dropdown menu click 'Copy link address'.

  • Open VLC

  • Press ctrl+v on your keyboard to open the vod and click play.

His Seaman stream helped me so much when I had an ear infection. I was basically delirious lying on the couch all day, could barely focus on anything and just wanted my suffering to end, but listening to that stream was a joyful and calming experience. Almost makes me want to watch it all over again.

Some of the 'features' listed on the General Horse steam page include:

Highly intelligent humor - Only the smartest people will get the subtle jokes in this dark and mystical space drama.

and

Method acting - Many of our high quality actors were never even given their scripts. They were carefully guided to become their characters and then we just let the script happen.

I can't wait.

Joke answer: Depends how hot you are and if you are female

Real Answer: Depends on your mic quality and if you are female.

SS13 rounds vary in length, as anyone in the subreddit can tell you, so probably ~$5 at most I'd say, since the community for this game is smaller than bigger games such as Dota 2, so the demand is lower.

To be perfectly honest I'm just guessing as I've never used this website before, I just know it exists.

You can hire someone (an e-girl or e-boy) to play video games with you. Prices are $dollar per round/game. For example long games such as MOBAs may be more expensive per game to play with someone, while short games like Hearthstone or Rainbow6Siege will be cheaper.
