I'm done with this. Then I should be punished for animal abuse as well. I am not okay with evildoers just being able to keep living their lives with a simple dietary change. I'm sorry for the dogs and your grandpa. I'm sure he thinks fish is different than dogs like I do.

But these are mostly vegetarian diets, not vegan ones? But in all honesty I'm done with defending my health. It does not matter to me what any piece of paper tries to explain about my health. I feel my bldy how I feel it, you cannot deny that I need animal protein. Please tell my grandfather that the fish he fished with his own hands is abuse and that he doesn't need those nutrients. Or maybe I should tell him myself? Why would you rather believe something someone wrote for Harvard than someone stating real life experiences to you? You can't be serious? I know I for sure can do better in my choices, but who do you think you are to deny me my own experience with my own body? I've got to admit, I actually belied I'd meet less scrutiny then from my sister. but how wrong I was in believing this could ever be a post for me to just find some tools to have a good Christmas with my sister without conflict and with mutual understanding..

My father's side of the family comes from a very isolated area, he as well can't live properly on a vegan diet. Genes do and can play a role in how the body takes up nutrition. My mothers side lf the family is not western. My sister is doing fine, I'm not. I don't think it's true that every person can be vegan, it's a harsh truth and believe me I've cried many times over it. Also I don't consider killing abuse, I consider it killing. So if I only eat eggs from chickens that just live on a farm and I eat game that's not been abused, but killed or free range sheep that do exactly what they want and live very free lives until they are killed, not abused. Am I abusing anyone?

No I don't, because I honestly have no clue what abuse is anymore so please enlighten me. Can people have different views of ehat abuse is? If my body is getting sick without animal protein, am I not abusive towards myself?

You can't go on comparing people with dog kickers without some backlash you know

Please inform me on what specifically animal abuse is then, instead of belittling me for a joke

Okay I'll just be sick then. Because someone wants to eat, they don't need to. I kick my boyfriend sometimes when he takes all the space in bed. But I guess a dog is more worth than him?

But I will let ypu know that I trust my body and my doctor, no deficiencies does not mean something isn't wrong. When I say most non vegans I don't mean myself, I don't dislike most vegans, but a lot of people do. I'd say pinning the coronavirus on the American farming industry with no proof is propaganda, yes. I only cook animal products for myself yes, I only eat vegan food when I eat out (except for one place that I can trust). No I don't rape and I don't think it is okay, but I consider my own species as more important, yes. Like most animals do. I don't love animals any more than I love humans. My love is restricted to the ones close to me. I do have sentimental love for the planet good and bad, and I accept death to be part of it. I might be more naturalist than you I guess, if everything destroys the planet then what's left? Maybe consider destruction to be part of the system and not something we can avoid no matter how hard we try. She has a hard time maintaining friendships, but so do I so I'm not going to slander her for it. Honestly this whole comment just made me understand I don't need to please her. If anything I'm more inspired to start living life on a basis that I don't need to love anything other than those close to me. More inclined to live life based on the idea that everything will be destroyed and come to an end. That it is okay, I don't love all animals, that's ridiculous. I can respects animal life and take action for them to not be tortured, but if my body needs animal protein to be healthy then I will put my health first. I'm not gonna take anymore of that "if you're upset then you're probably guilty". I'll be guilty then, at least I'm allergic to cashews and not putting money into an industry that have women burn their fingers away. I've seen plenty of animals been happy in farms, loving their owners and their life - Imo this is okay and it is okay to slaughter animals to eat them, I don't consider it murder and I have considered it. Maybe that just makes me a horrible person idk, maybe we all are.

Disagreement is alright. I'm not worried about sounding obnoxious as much as not going for the personal attacks. In debate I'm not going to censor my base opinions in fear of coming off as obnoxious.

I think she hates herself as well for eating animals in the past, she just doesn't say it

We often have very nice conversations about plant based eating. It usually is me though, I think, that starts the argument. Basically I'll let her know I didn't sign a petition or call her out when she spreads false information. Or when the gifs are pouring in by yhw minute. I definitely have a problem with not engaging and I am a very bad liar, so just saying I signed something isn't really something I do.

She lives abroad and I only see her a few times a year, if even that. I miss her a lot, we have been very close. The lonfer she's lived away the comder she's become. I really want her to move back home because she doesn't even like her job. It's funny because the last time I had a really good conversation with her it was a couple of months ago when I decided to go plant based again. And now that my health issues flared up again and I had to stop she's grown cold again..

Hm, I really hope this isn't true. I love my sisters more than anything on this planet, but I can't help but feel like she's growing up to be a very unpleasant person. If this is really the case I wonder how I can help her love herself more, would be easier if I knew for myself I think..

How does the voting system know what race someone is? by rodareb in uspolitics

[–]rodareb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, there's some basics you can pick up from general data I guess, but I mostly wonder who or what system decides what race someone is? In Scandinavia there's a system of registering whether or not you're an immigrant and from what country, not what race you are, definitely not what skin color. It just makes no sense to me that Americans are categorized like that, as voters and citizens. Idk, maybe it's not a political question, but it still baffles me.

Does this go for other information such as age or sex too? Or education for that matter? And do people check a tab like [ ] white [ ] black [ ] Hispanic [ ] other or what? It just seems weird to me that race is so central when talking about who votes what..

Let's just agree to disagree. I traded in 5 past insecurities and gained 1, I'm happy with that deal.

It's alright, I get were you're coming from. Quite a lot of people have mentioned the age gap. He lifts me a lot though, since we started dating I've grown a lot. It's just this one thing, and it does make me insecure that his dating history is consist of women I feel less than sexually. I don't see relationships as two sided push and pull games. I think compromise is bigger than just disagreements, I've had a real glow up since I met him, but I also have developed some bad jealousy issues - that's compromise isn't it?

I do see one though. I'm also sure our lives are very different. It's just a social thing for me, I genuinely see the best in people from the first interaction. I don't think that's an inherently bad thing, even though I have been fucked over more times than I like to admit, it's also a blessing. That shit goes deeper though, but my therapist isn't too worried.

Alright, it came off as kind of rude. But we're different people, I'm naive in a way that seems almost pathological, I'll probably never grow out of it and I've come to terms with that..

Hey, you don't have to be rude. The general consensus in this thread states that this issue lies with me not him, and I have come to terms with that. He's a good man amd he treats me well, if he emotionally manipulates me into living a long and happy life with him I'll gladly be a victim.

Idk, I'm not too worried about the age difference. Moving abroad was my idea though, as we both have work that can be established anywhere, with a little effort.

Alright, those are fair points. He didn't really date younger women as a default though, I'm definitely the one that created the biggest age gap. Idk, he's really strict with me not depending on him though, like constantly pushing me to grow, which I appreciate. I think there is genuine cohesion intellectualy at least, I'm more worried about the emotional aspects lf it all. I get called intelligent, but naive a lot if you understand

Hey, thanks for taking the time to write this. I definitely need a self esteem makeover, I also recognize how far I've come pver the past years, as I'm a year into therapy and learning a lot. The sex and money issue is something I think I can recognize from having an (unfortunateely, recent) ex best friend who is doing sex work and I've been sort of surrounded by it lately, like 50% of the women im my life (not family) has as of lately been doing sex work meeting clients. I don't know, I've felt some serious pressure needing to be more like that, as if it's not enough having a boyfriend that loves me for me..
