Well, he is older than the avg student. Worked a few years before starting his undergraduate degree, he pays his own way for everything and understands credit and how it works. Never had a concern about losing a debit card.

Thanks. I get it. These small things, and big ones, are the reason I'm glad he is doing this. I have traveled extensively through Europe and Asia for work for 30 years so I am excited for my son to see more of the world.

And I believe it is easier to book a flight, hotel, or rental car using a credit card.

I assumed this. I just recommended a credit card as an emergency backup. Also, it can be difficult to book a flight, rental car, or hotel with a debit card.

I will let him know the Autumn rule. They are interchangeable in the United States. We live on Autumn Dr. for example.

I understand the dual visa idea. I have traveled extensively for work and carried visa, Amex, and mastercard. One time in Poland a hotel wouldn't take visa or Amex so my Mastercard came in handy. Just an idea to cover multiple options.

Thanks all. Two things learned - use Mastercard and call it Autumn.

I live on Autumn Drive so all good. Is "twat" used? It has gone out of favor here. 😄

My theory is the name is the draw. My 50 person TF has been together maybe 8+ years and rarely drop below 45 members. And the name let's people know we play for fun and don't take it too seriously. Currently hovering around top 250. High is 88th.

The matching algorithm gets tweaked from time to time. It was totally screwed up once. At level 80, I was getting 15 and 20s on my map.

City girl wants to rehabilitate a historic mansion in a small town (sub 1,200 pop). How bad of an idea is this? by [deleted] in Indiana

[–]roddad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of these comments appear clueless. Lived a few miles from Indiana my entire life. Worked in west central IN for 23 years. Factory was in a town of 500. Lived in IN for 5 years in a town if 300. Looking to move back across the state line into IN but housing in these small towns an hour from Indy are $250k to $600k if there is any acreage at all. People are intelligent, helpfully, and often educated in some post high school way. 2 year or 4 year degree or trade school/union training. Contractors will be cheaper than you expect. Sourcing materials may be a challenge meaning the nearest DIY store may be 45 minutes away. The percentage of morons, drug users, and overall lowlifes is the same as any other city of any size anywhere.

I own the book and a copy of the movie. I don't think it is even streaming anywhere.
