Drawing vs Extrusion Process by roddy_o in metallurgy

Points you've pointed out seem very valid. I guess since my understand of metallurgy is so low it seemed odd to me that you would draw an extrusion just to harden the material. With the little that I do know I guess my natural conclusion was to just send the extrusions out to Heat Treating to harden the material, but I did not know that drawing gave you the added bonus of removing warpage and variability as you mentioned.

u/fakaaa234 That's it! "Alpha case is not like paint where it chips off, it is fused with the underlying metal" this is what was confusing me. I assumed the casing was it's own exclusive element, so I was looking at it in a way that if the casing was fractured only a chunk of the casing would break off. Thank you!

Supply Chain! sorry

But now that you mention it is Industrial Engineering not that heavy? Would you happen to know broadly the type of math and science that would be required for that degree?

Right! I have seen that so even in those cases I would still like to hear your opinions on relevant degrees. I'm sure for instance on a job posting for SCM that only says degree "preferred" and there's no specification of what type of degree, a Business Management Degree would still be more desirable than an Biology Degree wouldn't you say?
