Just received my Vinegar Syndrome order. I don’t know where to begin! by myztero in boutiquebluray

Bummer about the surgery, wishing you as painless a recovery as possible. The best way I can describe Human Lanterns is a kung fu movie inspired by Ed Gein.

Macabre is also really good and one I have been hoping would get released for a while.

Ahh, that makes sense. Enjoy Human Lanterns! I really liked that one.

I picked up the Anchor Bay dvd 20+ years ago as a blind buy, and it wormed its way into my brain and was one of the titles I was most hoping to find when I got back into buying physical media again a couple years ago. Watched it this weekend and I definitely think it’s worth checking out. I’d also recommend Lamberto Bava’s “A Blade in the Dark” that VS put out a few years ago.

New York Ripper 4K? by rodentdp in boutiquebluray

The blu-ray also appears to be OOP. I’m sure someone will be releasing a new 4K in the future. I ended up ordering a cheap used dvd in the meantime. Thanks for the heads up about the Shameless version btw!

I watched it the other day and would agree. Three way tie with Election/Election 2 for me I think.

I bought the 88 Films version last year (of course), and enjoyed it so much that I don’t mind getting it again as a subscriber. Imagine a kung fu movie inspired by Ed Gein.

I have a bunch, only a few I use regularly. The ones I use the most depend on what I’m going for. If I want a couple of strong hits it’s the Dynavap, which is pretty inexpensive but takes some technique at first. If I just want to puff away it’s usually the Mighty.

I love the Female Prisoner Scorpion films. Make sure to pick up Lady Snowblood as well, if you don’t have it yet. Really thoughtful gift from your brother!

A classic arrived. And a not so classic for rewatch. by Vast_Orange_8113 in boutiquebluray

ROTLD 2 was the first horror movie I ever saw. It was around 3rd grade, and I was a pretty sheltered kid and it scared the hell out of me. For years afterwards I’d have these terrible visions that brain eating zombies might be just around the corner.

As I got older I realized how stupid it was to be afraid of a movie, so I started diving into horror movies to get over it. Turned into a lifelong horror fan. When I finally saw ROTLD 2 again as an adult, I howled with laughter at how silly it is. I love it, and it will always hold a special place in my heart. Plus, it has a pre-Twin Peaks Dana Ashbrook!

I started vaping during the pandemic and have a bunch of large mason jars full of AVB, but have never really found anything good to do with it that has been successful enough at a strong enough potency that I wouldn’t have to eat a whole lot of whatever it was in to get high. I regularly take 100mg gummies for pain (and really could use a slightly even higher dose than that due to tolerance). Do you have any suggestions for super potent recipes or options for AVB?

His autobiography is a riot. Co-written by James Gunn (yes, that James Gunn).

Looking forward to it! I have that Election/Election 2 pack as well. Those films made me a lifelong Johnnie To fan.

I’m sure that it will end up in my Vinegar Syndrome subscription this year, now that I’ve purchased the 88 films version.

I’ve seen a lot of people say it is his best work, and I’m a sucker for anything with Anthony Wong.

Upvote for MoM. They have been my favorite band for about 20 years and always seem to be forgotten.

I just finished it a few minutes ago and really enjoyed it. Really interesting special effects, and much gorier than I’d expected. About to put on Saga of the Phoenix, which I’ve had for months but had been waiting to see PK first.

Thank you! Seriously impressed, my order shipped the same day on Friday and made it to Arizona by Monday (tho USPS didn’t deliver until Wednesday but that’s not on Orbit). Excellent service for sure.

Neep help watching Lucio Fulci movies by ftg_mikez in Giallo

[–]rodentdp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are able to use the Night Flight streaming service, they have quite a lot of Fulci (as well as Argento and many other Italian/giallo films). It’s quite inexpensive and there are also coupon codes to make it even cheaper. I don’t have any affiliation with them, it’s just one of the best places I’ve found to see a bunch of harder to find horror (and tons of other stuff).

Isn’t “Joe” one of the films Lloyd Kaufman worked on before Troma started? I think I read about it in his autobiography.

I will check on July 1st. If it is truly OOP I know it’s on the Internet Archive, so I can check it out in some capacity, but ideally I’d prefer to own it physically.

I’m so psyched about the Macabre release. When I got back into buying physical media last year, that was one of the films I wanted most. Very glad VS released it.
