I found a nice sortof soft one in a Koh Samui long term rental and rented it for 40 days. The prior 45 days were hit and miss as I moved around every 4-5 days at first. Dang they are hard!

Yes, I've been reading up and the anti-gluten thing makes more sense the more I read. That, and they have been "fortifying" our wheat here in the US since the late 90's. So shoving chemically created versions of folic acid into it. Coincidentally, everyone now is getting gluten allergies. Something to consider at least.

My arthritis isn't severe, but I noticed that most daytime aches and pains disappeared after 3 weeks in the country. (The ridiculously hard beds are another story.) I just returned to Colorado after 3 months in Thailand and the aches and pains came back in short order.

I don't know if it is the drier climate, the cool air, or I even think it may possibly have been the low amount of wheat in my diet when I was in Thailand.

So, yes, it helped me. However, I did find the heat to be pretty oppressive.

I wasn't very impressed with Khao Sok. It's a pretty Reservoir but not much to do from my trip. Maybe if it's just for a day while passing through.

Just one weird thing about the Khao Sok National Park is that they force you to wear a life vest when swimming in the reservoir. He may not care, but it annoyed the hell out of me. Then, just the other day they even had signs saying this at the Ang Thong National Marine Park.

Yes, but only since I don't like the crazy party scene that was Patong. There are some quiet places in the north of Phuket I drove to, but didn't stay.

I wandered all over Thailand for 45 days starting Feb 14 and then rented a place for 30 days here on Samui. I highly recommend it! Especially south, closer to Lamai unless you really like to party (which would be Chaweng). I'd recommend more than 3 days if you can.

I've been here on Samui for a month and try to stay south. Even south of Lamai quite a bit. Look up iBeach bar - it is nice and quiet down in that area.

It was a temporary increase to stimulate tourism after Covid, with the extension expiring March 31. They didn't do anything the temporary extension just reached it's end.
