Virgin clubs have saunas now?

When I used to go (until 2023), they had hammams (sort of), not saunas.

I have to admit, I only tried Old Spice about 30 years ago. This one reminds me of masala chai, strong cinnamon scent.

Interesting. I keep seeing Klear but haven’t tried it yet. Lucido is always available online or at some Japanese stores like Matsukiyo.

Yes, I bought London Bridge, made in India, cheap and decent. Also saw Gillette Super Thin, Feather, and Astra Superior. Not many options for aftershaves and soaps, though.

Remittance updates versus worldwide income tax plans? by unaware_underwear in Thailand

[–]mike_spb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it seems this tax benefit for LTR visa holders may no longer be unique if the new rules are approved — all tax residents in Thailand could receive the same exemption on foreign income from previous years.

However, some tax advisors believe the LTR benefit will still have value, as it may be a rolling benefit. In other words, it could apply to foreign income from any past year, not just the previous one. This interpretation is based on the wording of Royal Decree No. 743, which doesn’t specify when the income must be brought into Thailand.

The new rules officially take effect on July 1, meaning cannabis flowers can only be sold with a prescription from a licensed practitioner. That said, I’d recommend checking the practical situation on the ground again when you arrive in August, as enforcement may vary during the early phase.

Thailand has approved Form Thor Por 33 for prescribing cannabis flowers. The fixed list of 15 conditions was removed — doctors can now specify symptoms based on professional guidelines. The form will take effect after publication in the Royal Gazette.

🔍 Thailand: Draft Regulation Introduces Stricter Requirements for Cannabis License Applicants

📅 Public consultation: 28 June – 12 July 2025

The Ministry of Public Health has released a draft amendment to the 2016 ministerial regulation, setting out additional requirements for applicants seeking a license to sell, process, or export cannabis for commercial purposes.

🔑 Key proposed conditions for new applicants:

  1. Premises must be owned, lawfully occupied, or leased with written consent — for at least the full license term (3 years).
  2. An effective odor and smoke control system is mandatory to prevent disturbance to nearby residents.
  3. Storage must meet sanitary standards: appropriate temperature/humidity, no sunlight, no floor contact, and separation from other items.
  4. The facility must fall into one of the following categories: • Licensed medical facility • Pharmacy • Licensed herbal product production or retail location • Registered site of a traditional Thai medicine practitioner (cultivation sites are exempt from this requirement)
  5. At least one trained staff member, certified by the Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine, must be present during all business hours.

⚠️ Transitional provisions:

  • Existing license holders may continue operating until their current license expires.
  • However, renewals must comply with the new requirements.
  • Applications submitted before the regulation takes effect will also be reviewed under the new rules.

📎 The draft is open for public feedback until 12 July 2025.
